Please disregard the garbled first post above...is HTML not allowed on this board? Sorry this is my first time posting, even though I have been using the software for many years.
Anyhow....
This program for the iPhone is entitled iCody and can be found in the iTunes store here:

Their website can be found here:

First you will need an iPhone with an autofocus feature:
iPhone 4S
iPhone 4
iPhone 3GS
The iPad 2 and the Touch 4g work but with limitations due to the cameras in these models (according to the developer)
I won't go into the details but I lost not only my main database, but also my backup of it, and even the back of the backup believe it or not.
I had over 4000 DVD and Blu Rays in my collection and over 10,000 Laserdiscs and VHS titles combined so this was a time when we tech geeks and collectors either want to break something or burst into tears.
Now for the GOOD stuff...
This program connects to your Wi-Fi network and allows you to scan all the titles you want...I have yet to hit a limitation anyway.
So with your DVDP open on your computer hit add to collection then click add multiple. MAKE SURE THE CURSOR IS INSIDE THE BOX WHERE THE UPC's ARE ENTERED.
Then go to wherever you keep your films in your home and start scanning like made. The scanning on my iPhone 4 is incredibly fast.
Whatever UPC's you scan are automatically sent to the DVDP desktop in the multiple UPC field.
Also the app stores these UPC's and keeps a running count of them. I usually go in increments of 50 then go to my PC to make sure DVDP added those 50 titles; just to be safe. We all know how horrible it is if we miss even a single disc.
At this point you can even email yourself a hard copy of all the UPC's entered or simply delete them from your phone.
For MAC users it works without any additional software as long as you have Thetis running.
While I have a MAC it rarely gets used and use a PC for my DVDP (and 99% of the time for everything else) so you need to have some type of VNC software.
While it is not necessarily my favorite VNC out there UltraVNC works the absolute best for this app. It takes very little setup and works very quickly, plus is also freeware.
It can be found and downloaded here:
http://www.uvnc.com/downloads/ultravnc.html
I tried a couple others I had installed already but were either buggy, slow, or did not work at all with this iCody app. I am by no means saying UltraVnc is the only one that will integrate with the app it was just the one I liked the best.
Anyone familiar with VNC software will have no problem with this (I do not think anyway)
However the iCody app site has videos and tutorials on how to get this working on either a Mac or PC for anyone new to the scene.
Just thought I would share this with the group considering how much it helped me out.
I tried to be thorough but there may be some members with questions so while I RARELY check these forums I am subscribing to this one so I can possibly help with anyone who has questions.
Hope this helps some members here.
