| Posted: | | | | The new audio format system was created to reduce confusion and ease entry. With that comes a loss of some flexibility, so we'd like to address that. In the long term we're considering the possibility of adding a "Custom" audio type and allow direct entry for the name and/or channels. In the short term, if there are a couple of specific compression/channel combinations we could add that would cover most of the holes, we can add them to 3.0.2.
So, what are the top missing formats? | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | Dolby 2.0 and Dolby 5.0 are both there on mine Also, not quite sure what you mean by Dolby 2.0 -2.0 Surround = "Surround" -2.0 Stereo = "Stereo" -2.0 Mono = "Mono" All three are covered by the optional tracks, although I guess the last (mono) may not be the preferred way of displaying it... |

* I think these are both covered under the current "MPEG-2" option but this doesn't distinguish between channels and also I think many users will misinterpret "MPEG-2" as referring to MPEG 2.0 rather than the MPEG-2 codec. | | | Last edited: by Squirrelecto |

| Posted: | | | | Finally I hopefully found the right thread for this. For me the following formats would be VERY important: Dolby Digital 4.0 (lots of 20th Century Fox classics use this, and I have many of them) as well as further differentiation for MPEG-2, like MPEG-2 Mono MPEG-2 Stereo (the only one presently included) MPEG-2 Surround I think, even if we don't contribute them of course, many of us might also manage our TV streams/"recordings" locally with the Profiler, like I do. And these have mostly MPEG-2 sound. Without the DD 4.0 and the further MPEG-2 options, the Profiler would become fairly useless to me... | | | So long, M1uffy

*(3.0.1 DVD Profiler has “DTS HD”)
It needs the following: DTS-HD Mono DTS-HD Stereo DTS-HD Surround DTS-HD 4.0 DTS-HD 4.1 DTS-HD 5.0 DTS-HD 5.1 DTS-HD 6.0 DTS-HD 6.1 DTS-HD 7.0 DTS-HD 7.1
The lossy DTS-HD version is called "DTS-HD HR" or "DTS-HD High Resolution" (lossless of course is DTS-HD MA as you already stated) | | | Last edited: by kschmit2 |
