if its a file backup and not a profiler back up, that should work. I pass my data between 2 computers since the one is really slow and profiler has some issues with the size of my collection on it. and I just cooy it from the faster one when I need to do something with it. I also re-pathed mine to not be on the c drive in case of crash.
