Anyone know how I can change the export xml file? When I attempt to open the file in Excel (or LibreOffice Calc) I get the message "The data could not be loaded completely because the maximum number of rows per sheet was exceeded." My collection is large, but the problem is that when it opens (when it did before), there are at least ten or twelve rows for each record (all duplicates).
Any thoughts?

Gene

There's a plugin called CSVExport that will export your collection in a format compatible with Excel or the spreadsheet of your choice.  Try using that instead.  You can find it under the Downloads menu up top under the Plugins section.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection.

I do!  (see signature)

But the CSVExport-Plugin Mark already mentioned would be my first recommendation too.

XML isn't any spreadsheet, but a plain-text document format to exchange data, which is readable for humans and programs.
Excel and other claim to be able to handle those, but as you noticed this is not quite the case, at least without an XSLT (a transformation-file)

I had always been able to open the xml file before in Excel and it always worked, after I deleted all the duplicate records. Problem is just recent.
I'll try the CVS download.

Thanks

Gene

The only plugin I could find was a bulk editor that mentioned cvs files .... is this the one?

The CVSExport plugin is in Mark's signature.

You could also have a look at ProfilerQuery.
It may be a good choice if you want to do any selection of what to export, and/or want to be able to specify which fields to export.

Thank you, but, the CSV export is the one I needed. Much cleaner than the xml export. Printed ou collection last night .... 458 pages (small type)

Fair enough. But just so you know, ProfilerQuery can also produce as csv file. And it does much more than that. Take it for a spin if you haven't already. You can find out a lot about your collection ...
