| Posted: | | | | I would like following feature: now on the iPad (I don't know since when) it is possible to take a photo of the cover of the DVD for one's personal collection, of course if this is not already in the Invelos Database. It would be fine if these images could be submitted to Invelos for inclusion in the database. This was possible on PC, but now I switched to Mac, and I lost the "desktop-version" of the program. So that means that now I cannot submit new DVDs anymore. Since I buy sometimes old DVDs or documentaries or films in italian, it happens pretty often that they are not in the Invelos Database. It is a pity, I would gladly contribute them. Best regards Claudio |

| Posted: | | | | I would like to add the free virtualization solution Virtualbox to the list. Virtualization, of course, still requires a valid Windows license. The non-virtualization methods fall short on a few Microsoft proprietary DLLs, if I remember correctly. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. | Posted: | | | | dee1959jay and ya_shin, thanks a lot.
But I still insist on my main "Feature Request" if someone from Invelos reads this: being able to SUBMIT, to CONTRIBUTE a new DVD to the Invelos database solely from the iPad version. With cover photos and all what is needed.

| Posted: | | | | I'm glad you submitted that request.
However, you should also be aware that sometime Invelos can move VERY slowly. It might (not being an employee, that is entirely a guess) take them a year or more to get this feature added. If you're fine waiting that long for your feature request (assuming they decide to add the feature), then you're good. If that sounds like a long wait, then the advice from ya_shin and dee1959jay might be helpful to you. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. | Posted: | | | | Hi Mark, Thanks for the explanation, I am also glad to better understand the standard time constant of the Invelos software development. I am acquainted with user requests or wish lists that are NEVER implemented :-), with other software types (e.g. flight planning, CAD, CAE...). So for me it's up to them, they are loosing a huge "crowd work" limiting themselves to the windows PC. And actually, at least for italian DVDs, the database is really poor. And old. People uses more and more mobile devices, there will be less and less people devoted to sitting in front of a PC to do this kind of work. Although I would be one of them, if only Invelos would have a Mac version. OK, I know, Window emulators exist. But the iPad would be actually much better. Anyway, for me all my "feature requests" are more like "wishes" or "suggestions" to the software company. Have a nice day Regards from Europe Claudio |

In this particular case, "they" are a single developer. There has been many requests for a Mac version over the years. But with 1 person to handle Windows, iOS and Android clients, plus the backend database, servers, web site, etc., there's just not the time for a new platform. Hopefully that will change someday, but for now, I wouldn't expect a Mac version. He has to concentrate his limited time to those things that will bring in the most money. And while we have users requesting a Mac version, it may be few enough people that it doesn't justify the development costs (just a guess as I have no inside knowledge of the company). Especially considering that there ARE multiple ways to run this on a Mac. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | Oh! One person! I see... I wasn't aware of this. Well, thanks for the insight. Maybe I will decide to try one of those emulators. At the moment, as a new iMac user, having made the switch only 6 months ago, the idea is still a little cumbersome. Again, thanks and regards. |
