| Posted: | | | | I'm using DVDP 3.9 and I used to have Forbidden Hollywood Vol. 1 (UPC 012569679641) with two child profiles. Child profile one (Disc ID: 526CA7787280950D) used to contain information for both films on that disc (Redheaded Woman and Waterloo Bridge) and child profile 2 (Disc ID: 1FB5F1AE73082D70) contained Babyface.
After a profile refresh, all info for Waterloo Bridge is now missing from child profile 1 as it should be, but I didn't get a prompt for the now missing Waterloo Bridge which, as I understand it, should be a third child profile now. Manually checking for child profiles didn't help either. Waterloo Bridge is in the database with Disc ID 526CA7787280950D. The same problem happened with other Forbidden Hollywood box sets that have two films on one disc.
Is there an easy fix or will I need to go through my entire library to check for missing profiles and add them manually? (The latter would be really annoying.) |

It should, but I am not sure that Profiler ever asked for automatic child-download when boxset info was changed on a title in your collection. Quote: Manually checking for child profiles didn't help either. That seems to indicate that either: the parent profile wasn't updated/submittedthe parent profile update is not released yet or was declinedyou have the boxset info locked, hence no update okay just added the profile and only the two non-variants were downloaded, so scenario #1 or #2 it is.cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki | | | Last edited: by Mithi |

cya, Mithi It's definitely not locked. I guess I'll wait a while to see if the parent profile gets updated. I'm not sure if it was among all the updated profiles yesterday and only noticed the child profiles when I updated again today. |

| Posted: | | | | Try downloading again. The new variant profile for this movie was released yesterday. If it doesn't get download by asking the parent to download child profiles, try downloading it by title and adding it to the parent. | | | Hal |

DVDP tells me there are no additional child profiles for that parent. I know that I can add the missing child profile manually, but I shouldn't have to do that. I'd have to check my entire library for profiles that could have variants now and check each one for missing profiles. That looks like a pretty serious bug to me. Edit: Just saw your other post that ended up in the wrong thread. I'll just wait a while for the update to be released. Thanks. | | | Last edited: by SilentBob1138 |

Thanks. hal9g added the variant ID to the box set contents of the main profile (UPC 012569679641). This contribution was just approved but once the change has been released DVD Profiler inform you there is a new child profile. My recommendation is check again tomorrow. |

| Posted: | | | | The problem is that the update to Forbidden Hollywood: Volume 1 has still not been released. This update includes the addition of the new variant disc ID to the box set contents. | | | Hal |

| Posted: | | | | Even if the new variant child profile is approved and released, it will still take some days before the modification of the parent profile (different box set contents) gets voted on, approved and released. I guess the best course of action is: if you get a profile update indicating that a new variant child profile was created (as in this case), ignore that update for some days until the modified parent profile is released as well. You can then update/add all profiles for the set in one go, without losing any data for some days.
Ideally, the contribution system should work in such a way that all relevant profiles are released at the same time. Apparently it doesn't work that way (yet). This is going to create a lot of confusion among fellow users.
Ken, if you're reading this: you might want to think about a way to synchronize these profile releases in order to avoid confusion. |
