| Posted: | | | | I have nearly 1,000 movies listed in my AllMyMovies Database, and thus do not want to have to reload all of them, individually. I do not have access to a barcode scanner, so is there a way to export from AllMyMovies to DVD Profiler? I do have an Unlimited License, so that will not be a problem. Anyone's help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! | | | "Why is it when you sit on a hot stove for two minutes, it seems like two hours. | Posted: | | | | If "AllMyMovies" has an XML export function you may use the PlugIn "BulkEdit" from the Download section to import your data. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I do not have access to a barcode scanner, so is there a way to export from AllMyMovies to DVD Profiler? That depends on what data you have in AMM. If I recall correct from the last time AMM does not have the barcode, which is quite a deal breaker. Because in the DVDP universe everything revolves around the UPC/EAN. Do you have a smartphone? Tose can be used as barcodescanners e.g. with the help of barcode2file[2] (Android) lists of barcodes can be acquired. Another question would be if there is personal data (place and date of purchase, watched, notes etc) that should be imported. While an generally import is possible, it is not an easy task. The plugin BulkEdit can import XML in the native DVDP-format, so any data you have has to be brought into that form. I am willing to help you with this process. If you want send me an export ( ) of ~10 profile so I can have a look at the data structure. cya, Mithi [1] https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.webxit.barcode2file | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki | | | Last edited: by Mithi |

| Posted: | | | | All My Movies has extensive and flexible export options, including CSV, which can load directly into BulkEdit Custom CSV. If the Barcode field is filled in, then just manually map it to the UPC or Profile ID field in the Custom CSV dialogue.
Whenever the field names match exactly, BulkEdit auto selects the mapping. The rest need to be manually mapped by using the convenient dropdown list of fields that have been found in the source file.
If Barcode is available, and no personal data is to be copied, than that's all you need, regardless of what method is used to extract the barcodes from the All My Movies exported file, and you have your choice of several methods of using the Barcodes list. BulkEdit is just one of them.
I noted that the sample database that comes with the program did not have barcodes included, but maybe your database does? | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |
