| Posted: | | | | Hi -
Does anybody else use phpMYProfiler software to import (parse) their DVDP collection.xml file? I am getting "XML error: not well-formed (invalid token) at line nnn" when importing data to my commercial web server. When I review the line in error, it is because there is a French or Spanish character or a word like 10+, etc... Sometimes the character is part of the Overview and sometimes the Cast database, etc... If I remove the character the line is accepted but then a couple thousand lines later it might find another French character and fail. What is weird is the fact that I don't get any errors when importing the data to my wampserver running locally on my PC. ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 COLLATE=utf8_general_ci is specified for both databases. Anyone have any ideas why this would occur?
Thanks. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks but I am fully aware of that website. I was asking if someone in this group had any ideas or experience with this. |

| Posted: | | | | I was able to resolve the issue by zipping the collection.xml before sending. Apparently without the zipping the file was picking up garbage data??? Not sure but it works now. |

Not sure but it works now. I would suspect the ftp-client. Maybe it sees the text and transfers it as ASCII which it isn't with all those foreign characters, and that garbles it? If you want set "binary" as standard transfer-method and try again? On the other hand, if phpMyProfiler works with zipped XML, it might safe time in transfer. | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |
