'about every 5 or ten years' I will revisit on video the concert of Woodstock The Michael Wadleigh award winning documentary .. Few things crossed my mind as I again relished in this wonderful experience on my newly purchased 55 inch High def LCD TV .. 1. first off I was thoroughly disappointed in the standard picture 480p ... so went out and got a hold of a blue ray 720p DVD .. Much much better !! ( I am so perserved into todays technology  ) .. 2. We all know pretty well where are they now scenarios for the music performers .. But what about the rest of the "cast" ? .. the hitchhikers, .. the neighbors interviewed on film, ...most of the on camera concert goers- such as : mud-sliders, the nude bathers, a guy making a hash pipe with aluminum foil and a plastic pen ,.... the Roadies .., The security staff.., or People dishing out the free food on plates from Large soup kitchen pots .,, etc etc etc ... wouldn't it be a blast to read their story's or the memory's of this concert and the three days leading up the mountain of garbage left behind through their own family members today - recalling these storys thru facebook?? 3. have experienced this concert only thru video and record albums over the past 44 years.. and have always have the 180 minutes version embedded in my mind but the 225 minute Director Ed showed me a few acts I had never seen before.. some I liked some I couldn't care for and am glad the director Wadleigh deleted those in the premiere release back in 1970 .. ( which by the way I saw in a midnight showing in Long Beach California summer (1970?) in a theater down by the beach .. Remember the pot being smoked openly in the balcony , where I was sitting with my friend ... What a night !! ) ... and finally .. 4. Is there a book on Where are they Now? or would only social media pages such as Facebook on the Internet ?? I feel a well researched book on this would be a wonderful addition to the 50th anniversary which is not that far away anymore ... your ideas or thoughts.. ? |
