| Posted: | | | | I just cannot find a way to add a duplicate of a movie I already have in the DB. I mostly use this for ebay store stock, and that would be a pretty important function for me.
Any way to do this? |

| Posted: | | | | DVDProfiler was developed for private, non-commercial use only. This means that its abilities to enter multiple copies of the same profile are very limited.
Two ways are possible though: The "Count As" function in the "Personal"-tab of the profile editor, here you can set a value to mirror the number of your actual copies.
Manual profiles can be used too, since they use a different (Manual) identifier system they are not limited to the restrictions of the normal identifiers (DiscID and UPC/EAN). | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Any way to do this? This has been discussed so many times, and as Lewis said it is not officially supported: I encourage you to do a search of the forums to see some of the workarounds proposed in the past. The workarounds are technical - the Invelos Terms and Conditions for your use of the program are another matter, which is none of my business IMHO. In summary, you can use any personal information field that you are not using for something else. For example, you could use Location or Slot to represent number of copies of a disc. Using the Translation File, you can even change the field caption. You could create a fictitious User or Vendor and keep track of quantity using one the User or Vendor fields (e.g. Web Site or Phone number). You could create a My Links entry that actually pulls up a spreadsheet or makes a database call. You can make an HTML section that displays an Inventory count that you maintain in the Personal Information Notes section. Something like <a href="inventory">Number Of Copies: 2</a> . I'll bet there are a few dozen other ways as well. Oh, and there are plugins. For example, CCV allows you to keep additional information about the profile in a side file. LoadDVD allows you to interact with external programs, passing data to them and getting data back for display. (e.g. you could have a increment / decrement inventory command, call the program, it would do it, then send back the result to post as a message on your screen). | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |
