The PlugIn LoadDVD (available in the Download section of this site).
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Sadly this isn't supported by DVDProfiler.

DVDProfiler knows only three ways to identify profiles, of which two are (to a certain extent) automatic.

1) UPC / EAN (can be automatized by using a UPC-scanner)
2) Disc-ID (automatic, but only one disc at a time)
3) Manual profiles

Option 3 would be the one to use for (legally) downloaded video-files, but sadly (and as the name says) they'd have to be entered manually. Which is very cumbersome if you have to enter a collection of 700+ profiles.

Yupp,

but it seems that it is very hard (if not impossible) to implement, since all data that could be used as ID is variable.

First, thanks to Lewis for the several helpful posts.

This feature has been requested enough now that I am in the process of providing an upgrade to LoadDVD Pro to do it (with certain restrictions - as Lewis said, it is hard to do perfectly)

Over the last few years, I have worked with several users who had various ways of organizing their files. If you would like to have you particular way to also influence the direction of my solution, please PM me to start a conversation.

Here is a link to the most recent discussion of this topic in this Forum. The user is now happily using his new database, with the ability to play his files directly from DVDP using LoadDVD. It was not as turnkey as he or you originally wanted, but I think I now have enough information from enough users to enhance LoadDVD Pro to include a more turnkey approach.

If you have the ability to write scripts, then the discussion I referred you to, will show you how to use existing tools to bulk create a set of DVDP manual profiles as well as bulk load your files into either my plugin LoadDVD, or the DVDP My Links feature.
Thanks for your support.

Did you notice my prior post offering to review your specific requirements? Most of the people who have brought this up, usually go away without giving me any specifics. And the few people I have worked with on private projects had vastly different file folder and file naming conventions. So, the more I see, the better ideas I might get about how to make something general. Send me a PM if you are willing to share your thoughts (or post here if you prefer).
