| Posted: | | | | I have written software to control the DACAL USB changers within DVD Profiler. It works very well with Profiler 2.5 beta, but 3.0 gives me a hard time porting it over.
Background: My software sends a windows message to DVD profiler to pop up the personalise DVD window. It then reads the "Location" field and selects the correct changer (up to 127) and disc (up to 150 per changer).
Unfortunately Profiler 3.0 no longer uses standard menus, so a WM_COMMAND message cannot be used to pop up the Personalise DVD window. I have created a workaround by simulating keystrokes CTRL+P, but this requires the profiler window to be active and is an ugly solution.
Ken, if you have 10 minutes time, please add support for a windows message which can be sent to the profiler main window, eg. WM_APP + something which pops up the Personalise DVD window, and let me know the value of something.
If you have 20 minutes time, you could use RegisterWindowMessage( "DVDProPopPersonalise") to register a unique windows message.
Thank you for your time and best regards,

There might be others using DACAL changers. Sure, you can add "plug in packages" and "proper designed control DLLs" and make a generic remote control for DVD profiler, or add native control of changers into DVD profiler. All this takes a lot of thought, work and time. Adding support for a windows message takes a few minutes and gives immediate results. If Ken is really bored, he can add plug in package APIs later. Just a thought. | | | Last edited: by wuffzack |
