I am not able to download my database (5543 profiles) either through PC or Online. Process stops and only part of the database has been transferred to my phone. In the best case 3543 profiles were transferred. Never got any cover images.
I tried to download a little smaller database (163 profiles) and it was succesfull. All images were transferred as well. |

| Posted: | | | | I had the same problems with my collection. Tried it 5 times until it was completed. I would like to see a sync, that can restart where it left off (if possible), so it will come to an end eventually rather than having to try over and over. |

| Posted: | | | | I'm having the same issue with 2400 profiles. I get all the profile info but not all the covers. I also tried it via WIFI and on-line. |

| Posted: | | | | If you had the image size set to unlimited in the sync, it's possible this was causing an out of memory condition with large images. If that's the case, it should be improved now. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

| Posted: | | | | Galaxy S3 with CyanogenMod 10.1 RC1 (4.2.2) T-Mobile SpringBoard (rebranded Huawei MediaPad) with 4.0.3
I've got a collection of just over 4000 entries. I did a sync with both the Galaxy S3 and the SpringBoard tablet. I was on build 11 when doing the initial syncs (on build 16 now). It stalled once completely on the tablet and I had to restart the sync. I did get both to fully sync, but it took a *LONG* time for them to do it. I left them both running overnight. I saw the S3 syncing for at least 3 hours before going to sleep, and it had only just gotten to the initial 10% or so of the image sync progress. I have the image size set for Huge (not unlimited). For most of the process, I could have easily mistaken it to be doing nothing, it was moving so slowly. For informational detail, I'm doing the sync to an "external" added microXDSC card (64gb class 10 in the S3, 32gb in the tablet). I also recall it taking quite a long time on my old iPhone 3GS (which I no longer use) back when the iPhone version was first released a while back, though.
Anyway, fwiw, I did get a large collection to sync with the Huge image setting set. It may just take a LOT of patience.
Btw, Ken, great work on the app so far. I've run into a couple glitches, but by the time I looked up here on the forum they had already been reported and even fixed in a new build (such as nothing happening when tapping a cover image, etc). Keep up the awesome work. |

| Posted: | | | | Finally, I got my update done. I used still build 15. It took about eight hours (Wi-fi update). I have to restart the update process twice because the program returned to the "Connect to DVD Profiler" screen.
I tried to sync my database many times before the success. Often the update prosess stopped after about one hour and I decided to unistall and install the whole software again. Then, for some reason I was able to do the sync. It just took extremely long time and couple of restarts were necessary.
Restart was needed not only during "copying image" step but also during "copying profiles" and "reading database" steps. Image size was always set to huge. I have also an external card for database just like GuyGG (64GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC Class 10). |

Build 18 seems to be faster than build 15 which I tried earlier.
But there are still some strange behaviour. Yesterday, I tried to do the sync via WiFi but I got "Error Retry Continue" message during the "copying images" phase twice or three times. I tried to continue and I waited about fifteen minutes but nothing seemed to happen. The status in the PC was disconnected or 0 connected. (I don't remember the exact form of the expression.) Then I decided to quit.
This morning I tried to do the sync again. This time "copying images" phase didn't cause any problems and I got the a completion message. |

| Posted: | | | | [Solved my problem, it was simply a firewall port protection issue. Didn't think of that before, as I trusted the Connection Test Succeeded message. "Copying profiles" from DVD Profiler PC now] Using build 18 on Android 4.1.2 (3.8.2 on Windows), download via WiFi. I can't do the initial download from DVD Profiler PC at all. Initial connection test succeeds, but the actual update is forever Connecting. I did the initial download from my online database without problems (already with build 15), but as that's not what I'd like to use as my local master database, I uninstalled build 15 and all data, installed build 18, but I still can't get anything downloaded from the DVD Profiler PC database. 2500+ profiles in Owned, 3700+ profiles total (includes four custom categories). Of course my problem might not be related to the database size at all, as I managed to download my online database without problems. Details of the failure during the first update attempt from DVD Profiler PC via WiFi: - Checking Settings and Connecting... - Connection Test Succeeded After selecting Update: - Updating... - Connecting: [after about 40 seconds an error dialog] -- begin quote -- Error Retry? Continue No Yes -- end quote -- After selecting Yes: - Connecting: [seems to stay here "forever", DVD Profiler PC status bar displays "0 connected" all the time] | | | Last edited: by Ranavalone |

Retry command didn't work in my case. I waited about 15 minutes and gave up. I just have to stop and start initial download several times... and hope that it will work.
Initial download is a bit unstable indeed. And it takes some time although build 18 is faster than previous versions. I am wondering if DVDP Win backup could be used for initial download... |

| Posted: | | | | @Ranavalone: Did you try to connect by server name or IP address? Connecting by name I had the same issue. Connection test succeeded, but trying to update it couldn't connect. Switching to IP address I could update my collection without a problem. | | | |

| Posted: | | | | @StaNDarD: I used numeric address right from the beginning. But after opening port 32847 in the PC firewall (see my problem update), downloading the DVD Profiler PC database completed successfully. | | | Last edited: by Ranavalone |

| Posted: | | | | My database is only about 700 but I cannot sync images. It connects, opens database, downloads all profiles, goes to download images and seems to stop there. I let it run 8 hours last night, no errors just no images. This was on build 18. This morning I downloaded the release candidate, cleaned the database on the PC, deleted the database on my phone, and started the initial sync again. It all went the same way, connection was fast, reading database was fast, downloading profiles was fast, "hangs" at downloading images. I let it run for about an hour and got one image downloaded. Tried with images set to "unlimited", "huge", and "large".

I had to delete the database from build 20 and when I connected back everything, including images, synced flawlessly. Running the app is very fast! Nice job!!
One thing I noticed, if I started the sync and then put the phone onto the charger, the phone would show as "idle" in "connected users" on the PC, but on the phone the indicators would still be spinning and it still said updating. |
