| Posted: | | | | I recently bought the Alien Anthology Blu-Ray set.
The movies display correctly on my HDTV. But when T try and watch any of the 4:3 video on the last two discs they are displayed only in the upper left corner. The menus display fine.
HDTV is Sharp 720P and has the following Video Modes. Stretch, Smart Stretch, Zoom and Normal. Stretch is the current setting.
HDMI Mode is st to Video.
Blu-Ray player is a Memorex with the current settings.
TV Type NTSC Resolution 1080P TV Aspect 16:9 Wide Film Mode Off Deep Color Off Color Space YCC
I have played around with the player's Resolution settings and still the same.
Any help? |

| Posted: | | | | Set the Sharp to "Normal" If 1080p is possible for the Sharp set this too, if not set the Memorex to 720p | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Ok, I switched to watching TV and set it to Full Screen. Then switched input to Blu-Ray and set the player to 720P and pressed Play and still the same problem. |

| Posted: | | | | Strange, from the settings it's supposed to work now.
Don't own this set, but is it possible that it is supposed to look like this? What happens if you hook the Memorex to your computer screen? | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Try to update your Blu-ray players firmware. I remember similar problems with some other release and firmware update resolved them. |

| Posted: | | | | Memorex no longer makes players and no longer offers updates.
Looks like I may need to buy a new player in the future. |

| Posted: | | | | Does the TV have separate Video Modes for each input? |

| Posted: | | | | I just popped in the Star Wars Documentary disc from the Blu-Ray set and the old 4:3 documentaries display correctly.
I did change the HDMI to Auto.
ASAP I will retry the Alien set again. |

| Posted: | | | | Just thought I'd update.
I just got a new Sony blu-ray player and so far it's a great improvement over the Memorex. The Alien discs now play fine. |

| Posted: | | | | Set it to 16:9, not 16:9 wide. The latter makes everything wide whether it should be or not. |
