| Posted: | | | | Fantastic news on DVD profiler 3.
I now use a Mac, and frankly I miss DVD profiler. All the mac alternatives are extremely poor, all style no substance.
I was considering installing parallels but I decided to try Wine. Wasn't holding out much hope as previous version didn't work. But DVD profiler 3 seems to work on crossover.
So just thought I'd post to let other Mac users know | | | Last edited: by REBELinBLUE |

| Posted: | | | | Nice to know, since it seems not to work with WinE... |

| Posted: | | | | Recently someone posted about Parallels on the IVS forum. It's not cheap, and you may need to purchase a Windows license, but you could run DVDP with that on your Mac. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |

How could you not want those genres, for example? Style over substance meant, that Delicious Library is also obtaining the data by scraping other websites like Amazon... | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |

| Posted: | | | | All Mac DVD datebases do this due to the fact, there isn't a large enough userbase to create something as complete as the DVDP database. |

Let us not get into that debate Quoting ya_shin: Quote: Style over substance meant, that Delicious Library is also obtaining the data by scraping other websites like Amazon... Actually, style over substance didn't just mean that Delicious using amazon is my problem with it. It allows you to enter things like the price you paid but there are no "reporting" features (i.e. find out total collection price, DVDs bought in the last 6 months), no way to filter your collection (i.e. "show me all comedy DVDs", "show me all DVDs I've rated at 5 stars"). Not even a simple "owned" and "wishlist" view. All you can do is add an item to your collection and use the additional info field for "wanted", but again there is no easy way to find all your wanted items. It allows you to mark an item as being on loan, but gives you no easy way of getting an easy list of all overdue items. You either have to browse through your entire collection and find ones which say "Overdue from XYZ" under their info pane, or remember to add an item to a special "shelf" when you loan it out. In my opinion, that is not at all user friendly. Not even a "smart" list feature like just about every other OS X app out there that works with data sets. It seems totally useless for almost anything other than showing a list of your collections in a pretty interface. | | | Last edited: by REBELinBLUE |
