Multiple Disc IDs for One Box Set

There are certain DVD Box Sets that come with DVD cases that have multiple DVDs inside of them. Take Community: Season 1 for example. The set has two DVD cases inside, but has a total of four DVDs. When I add the box sets to the profile, I have to add four sets (one for each DVD) instead of two since only one Disc ID can be assigned to a Box Set profile.

Is it possible to create a function that allows multiple Disc IDs to be assigned to one Box Set profile?

I have that Community set.

It's a slip case with two slim cases, each slim case holding two discs. The slim cases don't have an UPC of its own.

The season profile has four disc Ids as box set children, for four discs.

So far the facts.

But I'm not exactly sure what you're requesting by "Is it possible to create a function that allows multiple Disc IDs to be assigned to one Box Set profile?"

Could you explain that a little more detailed, please?

I am in this same boat.

Here's a good example: I have Jeeves & Wooster: The Complete Series which has 4 slim cases with 2 DVDs each, so a total of 8 DVDs. When I click the expand button on the box set in the profiler, 8 profiles pop up representing the 8 DVDs, but 4 of them are duplicate profiles. I only want 4 profiles opening up to represent the slim cases and not the DVDs. But since each non-UPC profile can only be assigned to 1 DVD each, I can't do that.

So I was asking if it were possible to assign multiple Disc IDs to a non-UPC profile for box sets so that I wouldn't have to deal with the duplicates.

They aren't duplicates.

Every disc profile represents that very disc and only the data that is on that disc.

The cover may be "duplicate" if two discs are in the same case, but everything else isn't.

You have different cast & crew, different easter eggs, different features and so on.

What you can do of course, is simply remove the profiles you deem "duplicate" and enter all the data into the first disc profile (including both disc Ids in the Disc section of the profile)

You can then lock this data locally so it won't get overwritten by an online update.

But you mustn't contribute that because that's not a proper profile for the online database anymore.

Or create a manual profile for each case and include what you want. This can't be accidentally submitted for contribution.
