| Posted: | | | | I have over 550 GB of trailers (mostly HD) that I have been collecting since 2001. My question: Is there some way to connect my local files to the View Trailers Button? <Fingers crossed> | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

| Posted: | | | | Yes you can do it with "My Links".... see screen grab below on how I have it... in the url put file:// and point to the file on your harddrive. Category: Trailers and Clips Use link for: Trailers Link (this makes it work with the trailer button) | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Thank you Pete, this works great.
All my files are .mov and I use QuickTime Pro to view them because it will fill the screen keeping aspect ratio and not showing anything else on the screen but the trailer.
One more question: Do you know of a way to have the button launch QuickTime to play the movie? If not that's OK, at least it goes to the file and allows me to click on it to play which is 99% of the battle as they are not all on the same drive or in the same folder.
Again, thankx for this.

| Posted: | | | | Actually, you can open with the default program for the file type instead. just don't use...
Use link for: Trailers Link
But if you do that... it won't work with the trailer button on your toolbar. But what you could do is put an icon on the toolbar for My Links... and it will be in the drop-down menu of that button. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | I kinda thought so. As I said before, being able to attach the local link is 99% of the battle and a big greenie to you for this. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

| Posted: | | | | Cheers Mr Pete Sir, that's really good to know. YouTube is just a bit too flaky in terms of connection speeds and what it will won’t allow people to post, so this is a really interesting alternative. | | | Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it? Guttermouth "Lemon Water". Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally. So I'm an anarchist, deal with it. Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted... |

| Posted: | | | | Hey Pete, guess what. After closing all windows explorer windows, I clicked on one of the view trailer buttons and DVDP asked me what I wanted to do. One of the options was to always launch QT for these files and now it opens QT for all the links. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |
