| Posted: | | | | Hi Support friends.
I have tried 3 times to upgrade, and clean install the new version 3.8.0 in my PC. but each time it come up with an error and immediately closes. I hope the error is sent back to Invelos because there is a chance to place a comment, but that disappears quickly as well.
Hoping for some helpful suggestions.

| Posted: | | | | In the release notes of DVD Profiler 3.8 it tells clearly XP, Vista and Windows 7 are supportet. No older systems and not newer Beta systems. So this should be clear, it surely will work when 8 is out in definitive release end of year.

| Posted: | | | | Hi People
Thanks for all the suggestions, I will try some of them but really only supplied all that data for the people who wrote the update to be aware of this hiccup and maybe try to solve it. I am happy to keep using version 3.7.2. It just keeps reminding me that a newer version is available.
secondly when the upgrade reminder pops up there is no mention on the upgrade page that this is limited to only certain versions of Windows. this comment can only be found in the release notes and by that I don't mean the nice link on the download page but the text file attached to the Zip file. pretty hard to find.
I believe the writers of this program should be informed of these error so they can improve the program. No insults intended, only trying to help improve the program.

| Posted: | | | | Hi again
I have tested running both the installer and the program in compatibility mode, from Windows 7 all the way back to Windows XP SP3. but the error remains. it shows up the first time you try to run DVDprofiler. it may have something to do with it attempting to update the database for a new layout or something.
So for now I will keep Version 3.7.2 on my PC, the only other choice is to go back to Windows 7 just for this program only.
I have also sent a complete diagnostic to Microsoft hoping they will shed some light on the matter. They are very keen to find any incompatibilities with existing programs.
Regards

| Posted: | | | | I'm going to try the Windows compatibility setting as suggested, but I'm including my dump as well if it will help 3.8 to become fully compatible with Windows 8. I know Windows 8 release is imminent so maybe this info will help get in front of the problem before a lot more people start adding to this thread.
