Hi-

I added new DVDs on my iPhone to Colllection #1. I also removed DVDs from Collection #2 on my iPhone. When I went to update/sync to my desktop, Collection #1 was updated with the new DVDs, but Collection #2 on my desktop did not change; the deleted DVDs were still there.

Has anyone else had this happen? Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Michael

Just to be sure I understand, you have 2 different databases on desktop and the same 2 different databases on your iPhone?

I only have one database on the desktop and the same one on the iPhone. Each has the same 3 collections (Owned, Ordered, and Wish List) in it. The terminology isn't always clear, because the command on the iPhone is "Update Collection," but I don't know if it's updating the entire database or just one particular collection, e.g., Owned. Is there someway to control which collection gets updated?

it updates all the collections (owned, ordered, wishlist, etc..) in fact I update 6 separate collections with the 'one update'.

Thanks--this clarifies how it's supposed to update. I still don't understand why the DVDs I deleted on my iPhone are still in my desktop collection of the same name even after updates.

When you synched with the desktop, did you have "send changes" set to On?

Yes, it was on. I also enabled remote sharing on the desktop.

What collection category were the deleted DVDs in? If it is a custom category, is it included in Owned?

The DVDs that you deleted from one category were not the same ones that you added to the other category were they?

They were in the Ordered collection. And they were not added to any other category.

I tried to sync again, and I lost 100 titles from my Ordered collection. So I restored the database on my desktop, then opened up the iPhone app to sync. The sync worked and the iPhone data now matches the desktop. However, the "Send Changes" button on the iPhone is now set to "Off" and I cannot turn it on. Sharing is still enabled on my desktop.

What's going on?

I love this app, but it's behaving strangely.

The "Send Changes" button can only be set to on if changes have been made on the iOS platform.

Thanks, greyghost! Makes a lot of sense when you think about it. Which is exactly what I forgot to do.

Have a great weekend!
