| Posted: | | | | Hi all,
I keep thinking I'm missing something...
I have dvds in my collection from numerous countries each with their own flavor for what a title of a movie should be. I would like my collection to sort by the original title, so that for instance all Bourne movies are close toghether, regardless of their title in their respective countries.
I've tried changing the title option to display Original Title, but that doesn't seem to affect the sort.
Am I missing something obvious, or is the software not able to do what I want it to?
Thanks in advance! |

| Posted: | | | | There are several ways (at least 9) to reach this point.
When editing a profile (Ctrl-E or via the menu DVD/Edit or via a button), look in the General Information tab, line 3, or the Personal Information tab, line 1.
You can also access the Personal Information section directly via Ctrl-P or the menu (DVD/Personalize) or via a button.
The location of the buttons depends on your layout. | | | Hans | | | Last edited: by Staid S Barr |

| Posted: | | | | Ah - I see... I was looking for a global option to sort by the pre-defined "Original Title" field instead of the "Sort Title" field. Thanks anyway |

| Posted: | | | | Since the Sort Title is set initially on downloading, but then remains local, there is no mass updating.
I agree it would be a nice feature if you could somehow move Titles or Original Titles (minus articles like "The") into the Sort Title field, say for Flagged profiles (which can be all profiles) or filtered profiles, but that needs a feature request. However, because so many modifications may be made to the sort title (I replace words like Three by the actual number 3), there may not be many occasions for mass changes, unless that would be the initial step for a lot of fine tuning.
Anyway, whenever you set DVD Profiler to sort by Title, it used the field Sort Title and not the fields Title or Original Title. | | | Hans |
