| Posted: | | | | Not sure if this is a technical problem or a missing feature but when I created my database I had a load of images that I'd locked on my desktop as I'd scanned and contributed them myself and they were locally at a much higher resolution than the ones that are downsized for contribution. When I synched my iPhone I got no images across from those profiles with a lock. I didn't have a missing image icon, just a plain white box where the image sould be.
I then went back and removed all the locks on my desktop database and re-synched and the white images didn't update. I seem to remember a reply to an earlier question I had when I was getting some really low res images coming through that once an image had been acquired it wouldn't be updated again. Is this the case? What if an initial contribution is from pre-release press image packshots which are then updated with actual scans upon release. If the iPhone synchs with the pre-release art how do I get the new actual scans on the iPhone database?
What I'm hoping is the case is that images won't re-synch unless there have been any changes to the image for a given profile, but at the moment this doesn't seem to be working for me. I created a new database in the end, but for some reason there are still a couple of boxsets that refuse to download the actual image and just have a white box.
I might try a database repair and then create a new database. Maybe there's something corrupted for those profiles and that's why I just get a white image.
If it is the case that images WON'T resynch even if changes have been made, can this be altered please? If not then being able to force an update of individual profiles would be a nice addition, wouldn't have to do the whole database, just the profiles you want. |

| Posted: | | | | Did you try changing the resolution of the images when you did a sync? If not give it a try when you do a database sync go into more options and change the resolution, that should cause all of your images to download (takes a while). I thought I read somewhere that there would eventually be an option to force an update of particular profiles but I can't find it. | | | Tom

| Posted: | | | | I don't believe it is the locks that are causing your problem as I have every profile locked and all my images were transfered. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | How are people doing screen grabs of their iPhones to put on forums? If it's easy to do then I'll get a screengrab and stick it up. There's almost a pattern to it, all but one of them are for profiles where I've contributed the image. There are plenty of profiles where I've contributed the image and the image has made it to my iPhone though so it's pretty weird. I didn't think changing the resolution of your pictures resulted in it re-synching all the images. Is this one of the fixes in 1.0.1? If so then I'll give that a go. EDIT: Found out how to do the screengrab thing! Google is your friend doh! | | | Last edited: by KirkSi |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah, I think it's something else other than the locks as I've removed all of those. I'm now wondering whether the file size of the images for those particular profiles is too big to synch with or something. I do my own scans at 400dpi which generates some large files and I keep them locally (obviously they get re-sized when I submit them). Having taken the locks off they should now be replaced with the lower res online versions, so hopefully when I change the resolution and re-synch it'll upload them. |

| Posted: | | | | I would leave them locked if I were you, I don't think that is the issue remember when you sync with the idevice the covers will be resized to the resolution you have set in the options on the update collections screen. One thing should have nothing to do with the other, why lose all your high rez scans on the desktop. | | | Tom

| Posted: | | | | Tried to re-size the images in my iPhone and it did indeed re-synch all my images which is good, problem now is that some that were white now have images, whilst some that had images are now white! The common factor seems to be that I've been the contributor of those images. Don't know what's going on! |

| Posted: | | | | Welll you've got me too, the only other thing that I can think of is reinstalling the app. I know it's a PITA but there doesn't seem to be anyone else reporting this behavior (that I can find) so it sounds device specific. | | | Tom

| Posted: | | | | Yes, I know I'm resurrecting an ancient thread but I found this on a forum search. (Better I search than just post a new message, no?).
I have the same problem on iOS 7.0.2 (not jail-broken) and DVD Profiler for iOS v2.0.2. The common denominator is my modified cover scans on the Windows application not downloading to iOS.
I have tried reloading thumbnails (switching 'High-res thumbnails' on and off), and downloaded my database several times. |
