At the moment the 2nd display option only shows the title plus some other fields (not edition). This has made me move the edition field contents for most of my dvds to the title field so I can tell my dvds apart.

The edition field is included on the first display option - but on this the title is cleverly not resized which means the edition field can be (again) not shown.

how about a) having the size of the title font change on the 1st display option like the title font on the 2nd display option - so it resizes so no matter how long the title you can see it. (or have it cover more than 1 line).

and b) have the edition field so you can tell your dvd profiles apart?
