| Posted: | | | | I just ran this and it removed approx 50 cast members from the database. I'm a little confused as to the purpose of this. Were those people mistakenly added to profiles or ???
Thanks |

| Posted: | | | | Cast & Crew gets removed when they exist in the database but no profile is using them
For example you buy the movie "Dune" and later give it away. And you have no other movie with the actor "Sting" or "Kyle McLachlan". Then these actors get removed in a database repair. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the explanation of it. The reason I asked is that I ran the dbase repair tool and like I said it removed about 50 people but I didn't delete any of my profiles.
Am I correct in assuming that any that were deleted would be added if/when a profile contains them then? |

| Posted: | | | | The actors were probably removed because their common name changed. Profiles are updated on a daily basis as users go through their collections and audit the credits. Once the change has been made, it gets downloaded into your collection when you update the profiles. I find that I get about that many names removed every time I do a database repair just because of common names.
Or if someone found a spelling error...I just found a name missing a letter and fixed it. Once the repair goes through, the old spelling will be removed from the online database and yours as well.
But yes, if the name reappears in a new profile or the common name gets changed back, it will get added again. | | | Lori |
