If said discs are different titles but also from different localities, you don't need to add them by Disc IDs. Just change the locality via "DVD" --> "Change Locality" or "Change UPC".

If they are bootlegs, then don't contribute them at all, as they aren't allowed in the online database.

If they are just duplicate DVD copies, don't contribute them either.

Profiles you aren't allowed to contribute (or don't want to)can also be added as manual profiles. Just untick "Download profile from Invelos" (at the bottom of the "Add DVDs to Collection" window).

Best just to use your best judgement. If there is a barcode on the cover and you're not sure, try googling the number (no gaps) and see what comes up.
Obvious pointers are: factory-pressed discs have undersides that are generally silver or gold in colour; the region mentioned on the cover doesn't match the part of the world it came from; the cover is in a language that doesn't match where it came from (though be careful as especially Hong Kong releases will be bilingual anyway).
Personally I'd rather have a possible dodgy release in the online rather than play safe and risk not having a genuine release in there, but others may disagree.

The database now require a valid UPC or EAN number in that all addition is available, 99.95% of the UPC numbers are in the database, more codes and release dates are added often and updated to full list.
