| Posted: | | | | Hello,
does anyone know, if it's possible to add new Genres? I just started to work with DVD Profiler and did not find a way yet.
And...is there a way to search directly for tags?
Thanks in advance. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for your quick response. The problem was, that "edit custom genres" was not listed under "tools", but I found it now.
@Woola: I will not make any contributions of that kind, I guess it's blocked anyway. I just need some "extra" Genres for myself to keep the overview.
Thanks again |

"Genre Genres are often a matter of personal interpretation, which can differ among users. If your personal preference for Genre differs from the main database, you can store the information you prefer in your local database and lock the Genre field from further updates. Do not make contributions that only change or re-order Genres, unless the existing Genre list is blatantly incorrect.
Custom genres are for local use only and will not be included in the contributed profile. Additionally, although up to five genres may be assigned in your local database, only the top three non-custom genres will be contributed."
It is not unusual to add genres to the database if needed but only with other additions or changes. If, for example it is a DVD on boxing or football and "sports" was not listed in the genre I would (and have!) added that to the database. |
