| Posted: | | | | While installing DVD Profiler I get an error message stating that .NET on my Smartphone is newer than what Profiler Mobile is going to install. The install then terminates.
How do I get DVD Profiler Mobile to run on my Motorola Q 9c ???

So the DVD Profiler Mobile may not work at all... | | | Deutsches DVD Profiler Forum: www.dvdprofiler-forum.de |

I downloaded the trail to see if it's compatible, and it did download, but when I go to open it I get an error "The returned page had no content type, and therefore cannot be processed". What's the point of this program if it only works on 25% or less of mobile devices, and I thought Blackberry's could do anything? I can't even see my full collection on the copied link in my browser, just the owned (the other buttons for ordered and wishlist aren't clickable). happy funtime! |

That may imply a touchscreen, but a touchscreen is not inherently validated on installation or during use.

| Posted: | | | | The reason you can't install on a Blackberry is because it is not compatible with the RIM Operating System. If you read the product info for DVDP Mobile, it only supports the following: * Windows Mobile 6 Professional or Classic * Windows Mobile 5 Professional or Classic * Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 2003 SE So as you can see, it's not the fault of the developer or the program. Note that there is only one (known) developer working behind the Invelos logo bringing us this application. However, support for the iPhone is coming so that shows he's not slacking here. |

In my defense, I just got my Blackberry 2 days ago and know little to nothing about it. I was always under the impression they were "pocket computers" that would do nearly anything, and figured/assumed with their popularity that they'd handle this with no issue at all. That's what I get for assuming. I'm slowly learning that while I have much more internet than my old Razor, it's still far from the "mini-laptop" in my pocket I had imagined. I also thought the BB ran a windows system while Iphone ran Apple. Now that I know, I am kinda bummed about not being able to use the mobile version of profiler, but will continue to hope I can on a future version of the program. So strange, I've found a trick to get my "all" or "ordered" lists up on the BB, but never get offered wishlist. I was hoping for the same set-up as the online list, where you can click the title and see the details, but alas it's list only, unless I'm missing another trick. Thankfully sites like dvdpricesearch and dvdcompare work on it, those combined with the list will help when I find a disc I'm not sure about in a used store, or if that sale price is really a deal compared to what's offered from the online sites. Looking at myself from outside, it's funny. 10 years ago I didn't even have a cell phone, now I want a full computer at all times. Isn't technology great? |

-Gerri I'm using a Samsung Blackjack 2 that has Windows Mobile 6.1 standard (CE OS 5.2.19208 build 19208.1.0.1) I've deselected the .net install (as mine is newer) and get the following error when I run the program after install: Error An unexpected error has occurred in DVD Profiler Mobile.exe. Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information. After selecting "Details" I was given this information: Error DVD Profiler Mobile.exe NotSupportedException at Microsoft.AGL.Common.MISC.HandleAr() at Microsoft.WindowsCE.Forms.InputPanel..ct or() at DVD_Profiler_Mobile.frmStartup.InitializeC omponent() at DVD_Profiler_Mobile.frmStartup..ctor() at DVD_Profiler_Mobile.frmStartup.Main() Is this still related to the program looking for a touchscreen or is there just a compatability issue here. Thanks all for the great info |

| Posted: | | | | Hi,
I am getting a simalar error:
I'm using a HTC Touch HD that has Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional (CE OS 5.2.20764.1.4.3 build 20764.1.4.3)
I've deselected the .net install (as mine is newer - v3.5)
and get the following error when I run the program after install:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Error An unexpected error has occurred in DVD Profiler Mobile.exe. Select Quit and then restart this program, or select Details for more information.
After selecting "Details" I was given this information:
Error DVD Profiler Mobile.exe MissingMethodException
at DVD_Profiler_Mobile.frmStartup..ctor() at DVD_Profiler_Mobile.frmStartup.Main() --------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is this also related to the Touch Screen, as my mobile device is Touch screen and windows.

| Posted: | | | | Try to install .NET FW 2.0 anyhow. .NET Frameworks can be installed side-by-side.
I assume that the MissingMethodExcption was caused because MS changed an interface from 2.0 to 3.5. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
