Is it possible to have Profiler installed on both desktop and laptop but share a common database?

| Posted: | | | | You can easily change the default location of your database via DVDProfiler menu "File -> Open Database ...". But as Paul said, only one user can access it at a time, so it's probably better to use a synching tool for the two databases. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Since I only do updates on my desktop I upload my collection from my desktop and then one a week or so download it to my Laptop for when I travel/use in different room. |

I just share the database on my main PC and use that from both the laptop and the desktop PC. no problems | | | Paul |

Paul,
When you say "share" do you mean simply point each PC at the DB file?

Works for us. May work for others. | | | Registered user since December, 2000. |

I was going to make the same point. If you keep two separate databases, you're covered in the event you lose one computer. If you have the database on one drive and two computers share that location, you should have some other backup plan in mind. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |
