| Posted: | | | | It seems that it is technically possible to register on the Invelos Forums using a screen name that was formerly used by someone else. I think that can cause some confusion and should be fixed. | | | -- Enry |

| Posted: | | | | I'm not sure if this is really a big problem, because this can only happen if someone changes his username. I cannot see a reason for changing the username frequently. Maybe the old username should be blocked for a few weeks or so and after this the name should be available for new users. Number of changes could be limited as well, to prevent misuse. Just an idea... | | | Thorsten |

| Posted: | | | | we all know we are refering to the case of bbbbb aka waserglass aka skippnet50. Certainly there was the intent to mislead forum users and a very unpleasant situation. At least any attempts made to mislead the Dvdprofiler community should be sanctioned or made sanctionable. If there is no way to prevent situations as these. | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. His last attempt to mislead the community by taking the identy of "skipnet50" is a very serious fault. Ken this is maybe not in the forum rules, but this is more serious than a couple of spam. "bbbbb aka waserglass aka skippnet50" had try to play with the reputation of another user. |

| Posted: | | | | One user impersonating another has only happened twice that I can recall in the past 7 years. And it's been very quickly discovered in both cases with little to no real damage done.
I'd rather see Ken concentrate his time and effort on real problems, not some lame joke that's only happened a few times at most. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | Maybe it's only happened a few times at most, but that doesn't mean that it couldn't be a serious problem. And while I wouldn't want Ken to spend a lot of time on it, I would hope that he would set out in the rules a procedure for banning such chicanery (or more appropriately the perpetrator) in the future. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? Sorry Mark, but this is a real problem and Ken had to take action on this. That don't take a lot of time to ban an user. If you see that as a joke that's not my case and I see that as something much worse than this. |

| Posted: | | | | My point is when this happens, the person in question is discovered rather quickly. People know what's going on. So while they can go around trying to create problems, no one really falls for it. Sure Ken might ultimately ban the person, as he should. But I don't think a bunch of coding should be done to prevent this from happening. In my opinion it's not worth the effort since it doesn't happen often enough and when it does, no one is really fooled by it.
It's a very serious problem. Just not something that I think should pull Ken away from more important issues. When it happens the next time, I'm sure the person will be discovered very quickly, everyone notified (including Ken) and a ban will follow shortly afterwards. Seems like a good enough process to me. Espeically given how infrequently it actually occurs. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |
