Live from the Sony Pre-CES Press Conference, Sony has unveiled plans to offer a sub-$200 PC Drive. No specs were announced, but we should hear something tomorrow when the show officially begins.

Amazing and clever device. Just ordered one - it's on sale. Thanks for the tip. Well earned plus point!

Edit: My post is a bit misleading. Actually the device I was referring to is the one that is mentioned in the blog associated with URL given by pplchamp, not the Sony drive itself. The Endgadget device let's you connect any drive to a USB port. pplchamp still gets the point though.

Edit: I just received the CoolGear device. It allows you to connect IDE or SATA drives of any size (2.5" or 3.5") to a USB 2.0 port. It is very compect and seems to be well designed. My interim goal is to get (cheaply) into Hi-Def with the $180 HD player for XBOX-360 and when the $200 Blu-Ray drive ships, also connect it to the XBOX (or elsewhere) using the CoolGear gadget. Just FYI, Addonics make a small add-on adaptor that will convert a SATA drive to IDE, which I have also used for internal mounting of a SATA drive in an old PC that had no SATA bus. Works great. I assume that it would also work with the Blu-Ray drive if you need to connect it to an IDE bus.
Thanks for your support.
