First Motorola tells us people prefer HDTV football over being at the game, now comes news they'll watch uninteresting programs in HD. That's right -- a recent survey by Moto found that HDTV owners are so blown away by the picture quality that they'll watch HD programming whether they're interested in the content or not. We can look past the finding that people are watching more nature programming on their HDTVs than they did in third grade; there's a lot more nature programming available now. But when 12% of people say they watch sports in HD even though they don't like sports, you're seeing HD magic in action. What's even crazier is the finding that 20% of respondents find real life blurry compared to their HD window to the world. Scary. On a good note, the movie respondents most wanted to see in HD was seasonal fave "It's a Wonderful Life." Maybe people are getting wise to the evils of stretch-o-vision, eh?

I think its true. I can honestly say I have never sat through a Super Bowl, 2 years ago after getting my new 57" HD Projection tv, I invited everyone over to my house, spent about $100 on beer and food, and sat for 4 hrs in front of the tv to watch our home team the Seattle Seahawks loose to the Steelers. I have never watched the super bowl and honestly dont care about sports that much in general, but the fact that it was in HD and in a really big tv, well that made me a fan. Now we watch the games regurlay, and even have a few posters up on the garage and the boys room of the Seahawks. So maybe HD opened up my eyes to something I never knew I liked. The other thing I find myself watching for no apperant reason is Sunrise Earth, at 6:00 am while getting dressed. I have actually looked at some of these places and wished I could travel there, so mayeb HD will make the travel industry rise a little more. What do I know, I am just a sucker for technology.

I cannot disagree at all. I find myself doing the exact same thing. I will watch something just because it's in HD. I'm so spoiled now I hate watching anything else. Thank God for DTV and the 80 something HD channels now or I'd never watch broadcast television. This past Wednesday my local HD channels were out (we had a tornado rip through earlier in the week) and I had to watch Journeyman in beautidull standard def,  oh the disappointment.

David - some of the Sunrise Earth episodes should be enough to convince just about anyone to rush out and buy a HD set. They are gorgeous. Unfortunately I rarely get to see them. Start time at my job is 7, which is the same time they are aired here in FL.

The scary thing is this; now that I own a HD DVD player I'm able to pick up on the faults of broadcast HD. Truly spoiled I am

Another report found that 1 out of 5 people are overdue for visit to their eye doctor.

I watched stuff I wouldn't normally when I first got HD and again when DirecTV added all the HD channels, but I don't on a normal basis.  I just had to get it out of my system.
