Not only is it slow, but it's unbearable when connecting to a machine over a remote connection.  Each changed frame in the startup (splash) screen is rendered and re-rendered and effectively makes the program useless over a remote link until after 5-10 minutes of startup rendering has occurred (and this over a cable connection).

If you add "nosplash" (without the qoutes) to your DVDPro shortcut after the "C:\.....\dvdpro.exe" then it will just show the screen for a moment. Be sure to leave a space between the final char in the path to DVDPRO.exe and the nosplash.

I tried it out here and it turned it off except for a split second. Hopefully this will help.

But why? Sure the picture is kinda creepy being an eye with a DVD for an iris/pupil, but it's a cool picture! I love it!

I don't know who did the graphics, but so far, most of them are top notch IMO!

Ummmmm... no. I do no modelling for Ken and his graphics.

He asks me whether I like them all the time as he tweaks them, but I am not the subject.

I do like your avatar so much more than that creepy crawly avatar of Ken's .
It gives me the shivers whenever it pops up,until I realize that it is our ol' friend Ken behind that mask.

And you are as honest with him as he is with you, when you ask him if your ass looks big in those pants?

That would explain the creepy eye...
