You should only have to provide the documentation one time. If you have to check the boxes at the bottom, then that means that the birth year is not already in the system.
Also please remember, only use the birth year when there are two actors with the same name. Include data on both actors in your notes.

A reference to the other actor is obviously required to explain, but would this imply that also a second profile should be provided with that other actor? Furthermore, in many cases the details of only one actor can actually be found. | | | Hans |

I'm in this situation i have two actors named Tom Baker in my database one is easy its the Tom baker from Doctor Who he has is own web site so got the birth date from there the other is in the 1977 film Rollercoaster I've only found two web site that list him one is IMDb (Which we can't use) with the birth date 1940 the other is Msn Movies with the date 1936 so I'm kind of stuck at the moment as what to do. |

| Posted: | | | | To separate these two, it would suffice to add the birth year (1934?) for the well known and documented actor, and leave the other empty. I don't know how that would work out in affecting other profiles with these actors, but that same problem exists if you add two profiles with two different BYs. Which get which? And you can't guarantee that both profiles will be accepted simultaneously anyway. And of course you can't be responsible for uploading all relevant profiles, where you wouldn't own all DVDs... Best solution would be no automatic spreading at all. | | | Hans |

Or do what I do when faced with the same situation...provide what details you can ie for Tom Baker of Dr. Who fame and also point out that there is another Tom Baker who appeared in Rollercoaster "For which you have not been able to ascertain a BY for todate. I have had to use this myself on a couple of recent contributions for other actors whereby I could not find the second or in one case third actors BY. Providing you supply the supporting evidence that should help Gerri decide one way or the other. Steve |
