Is there such a thing as 'anamorphic' for Blu-Ray and HD-DVD |

In dvd's, anamorphic (aka enhanced for w/s tv's) was really a bodge as all dvd's are encoded at 4:3, it was how you get the image into that 4:3 box. Now I hope that in the HD/BR world that all discs are encoded in the correct aspect ratio. Whether that is 1.85:1, 2:35:1 or anything else. Does anyone know if this is the case? Assuming HD/BR do it 'correctly', the follow up question to the dvdprofiler specific part of the forums would then be 'should the video format of HD/BR include "anamorphic"'. The only exception, currently, would be Dragon's Lair (now on Blu-ray and coming soon to HD DVD). The squeeze would enhance the vertical resolution, but it would lessen the horizontal, so you'd have a zero sum game. The reason why anamorphic works on CRT-TVs is because they don't have a fixed horizontal resolution.
