| Posted: | | | | You read that right. Children of Men has been re-released and upgraded to two discs. Alfonso Cuaron told Empire that he didn't realise it had been released as a vanilla disc until he saw it in Woolworths! And he felt the cover looked like a pirate copy (must admit, I got mine from Ebay and thought I'd been done at first). Anyway, Universal is offering a free upgrade. Send them your current disc (not ex-rental or pirate), along with a self-addressed Jiffy Bag to the value of 70p, to: Children of Men DVD Amnesty, PO Box 188 Woodford Green Essex IG8 7RW Offer ends June 30. I think I've got all the correct details, but check out Empire magazine (215) page 31 to be sure. Might be online too, but I haven't checked. | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."

| Posted: | | | | Well Empire will only be considering Region 2, but maybe there's a separate offer. Might be worth contacting Universal and playing on the fact the the UK is getting free discs, why not other countries? | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."

| Posted: | | | | His problem is getting it back to the US though! It might be worth asking them. They request a stamp addressed envelope, so they shouldn't mind where it is sent. However, they also won't want the hassle of sending a special delivery. You can print your own postage via the Royal Mail website. Print out your label, for your stamped jiffy bag, then surely they won't have a problem. Depends how bothered you are about upgrading, I suppose. | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."

| Posted: | | | | any news of an LE release of this?..........it would probably cost me $25 to make all that happen, and its just not worth it. I could order the new one for perhaps $5 more and make that up by selling the one I have. Id rather just wait for a nice LE I think. | | | Last edited: by kovacs01 |

| Posted: | | | | No word as of yet on an LE. I have been watching closely on the DVD Therapy boards for a nice Korean or Japanese LE of this movie but I haven't seen or heard of anything yet. The 2 Disc UK version seems to be the best out there at this moment!!! | | | My Collection!!! |

| Posted: | | | | BUMP! Wakey, wakey... Has anyone tried this yet? If you have, reply to the thread and keep it alive a bit longer for others who may not have seen it yet. The offer runs until the end of June. I'm also interested to simply know how many are doing it. Hopefully it'll be enough to show Universal and others that double-disc editions are more popular if released first. To say we often complain about better versions being released so soon after vanilla editions, I thought Universal offering a free upgrade would have generated more interest. | | | Jon "When Mister Safety Catch Is Not On, Mister Crossbow Is Not Your Friend."
