| Posted: | | | | Ok, I've been using DVDPro for about 15 years or so, and this is new. I added a few new discs as I normally do, but a couple didn't have any info stored on the server; Spears & Munsil UHD HDR Benchmark and the 4K A Quiet Place 2-movie collection.
I added cover art to both and that art refuses to show up in the thumbnails.
I tried the usual, different images, scaling the images, cropping them, deleting the disc and redoing it, rebuilding thumbnails, copying the image to DVDPro and loading it as a file, deleting the disc and refreshing the profile, deleting the disc and redownloading my collection, and nothing works. These two discs will not show their thumbnails. I've added other discs since and they added fine. The profile for A Quiet Place 2-disc collection is available online now, so I removed the disc, shut down, restarted DVD profiler and re-added the disc like I did with the others. Still nothing. The images show up in the Cover Art window just fine. But not in the Thumbnail display. |

| Posted: | | | | I don't use DVD Profiler to add any of my cover art or thumbnails. Doing so results in reduced image quality. Instead I copy the cover art and thumbnails I've prepared for a given profile to the below folder locations used by DVD Profiler, my local DVD Profiler database in this case being called, "BD".
"C:\Users\AlienM15x\Documents\DVD Profiler\Databases\BD\Images\" "C:\Users\AlienM15x\Documents\DVD Profiler\Databases\BD\Images\Thumbnails"
(The DVD Profiler for PC application creates the thumbnails. They aren't downloaded from the Invelos online database.)
That being said, as a workaround you could always create your own thumbnails for the profile(s) in question and place them in your "Thumbnails" folder. There's also the "Tools\Options\Utilities\Clean Images Directory" option. Perhaps that might help. It will delete images that are no longer in use. Not sure if it addresses missing thumbnails though. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection | | | Last edited: by Lowpro |

| Posted: | | | | I'm not concerned about image quality. I just want a thumbnail to show up instead of a big red square.
The images show up in the correct directories with everything else, both the full size ones and the thumbnails when I add the disc, and they show up in the app on my phone, but not in the main program on Windows.
I've tried adding a text disc, just a random one from the online list and replaced the image on that. That worked. But if I replace the image on A Quiet Place with that same image, it doesn't apply to the thumbnail view, even after restarting, so that rules out a weird image file. There's just something about the 2 disc 4K set of A Quiet Place that it doesn't seem to like, and I can't figure out what it is. |

| Posted: | | | | I've just downloaded the profiles and the thumbnail works ok for me, so it's not a database or general profiler issue, but something to do with the install on your PC.
You don't indicate anywhere that you've tried the repair database or clean image directories options, so I'd suggest you run those if you haven't already.
If that fails I'd suggest setting up a second database in a different location, preferably a different drive, and downloading those profiles as a test. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Lithurge |

| Posted: | | | | The thumbnails are not downloaded from the Invelos online database, only the full size cover images are. The DVD Profiler for PC application generates the thumbnails from the full size cover images and only does so when the given thumbnail needs to be actively displayed within the application for the first time.
As such, delete the thumbnails for the profile(s) in question from your "Thumbnails" folder. Once doing so change your "Collection List\Collection View" option to "View As List", then change it back to a view that includes thumbnails, i.e. "View As Details" or "View As Thumbnails".
When viewing the profile(s) in question within the "Collection List" pane at that point the thumbnails will be regenerated automatically and added to your "Thumbnails" folder, the "Collection List" then populating all the thumbnails for the profiles displayed within the pane.
This is the expected behavior. I'm able to replicate the above at will. I did so several times just now with random profiles. Give it a try and let us know how you make out. Good luck! | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection | | | Last edited: by Lowpro |

It seems to be isolated to just these discs. 4000 others work just fine. I've also deleted the images manually and ran the refresh DVD option several times, both with the program running and shutting the program down. No difference. I renamed them, just in case there's some kind of lock on the files, and did the process again. New thumbnails were created, but still nothing in the list. |

Ok, that works. I just created a new database, and added the problem movie (it's the only thing in it). The thumbnails displayed! But making a new database and copying the old info to just results in the same problem. | | | Last edited: by Dave Jerrard |

| Posted: | | | | Got it working.
I did as Lithurge suggested and created a new empty database. I saved a backup first.
I then added the problem discs, which came in with images and generated thumbnails that displayed in the list. I then restored the backup using the Restore Specific Profiles option, and unchecked the two problem discs in the list (which really needs to be scalable). After a few minutes, everything was showing with thumbnails.
Of course, it probably would have been faster if I backed up the two bad discs and then restored that to the main database, but it's done. |

| Posted: | | | | I rarely ever deal with the backup and databases features, so I was pretty oblivious to the ability to transfer specific entries from one to another. It's something I do regularly in my 3D work, which frequently runs into the same kinds of problems, where something in a scene file goes wonky, but if you load stuff from that into another scene file, whatever was causing the problems stays in the original file and you only get the stuff that works. Usually. I just didn't expect that to happen here. |

| Posted: | | | | Well, the thumbnail implementation is a bit wonky so there you go. Good to hear you got it sorted out. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection |

| Posted: | | | | I have this issue too with several profiles, so thanks for a fix. Strangly the profiles affected on the dedk top version are not a problem on the IOS version where all thumbnials display correctly | | | Last edited: by Big Al |

| Posted: | | | | SOLVED! To get rid of the red rectangle do the following:-
Edit the profile and go to cover scan - turn off media banner and save. Exit enter profile and the thumbnail has returned | | | Last edited: by Big Al |
