Hi folks,

When adding a classic TCM title that is a member of their 'Archive Collection", I have noticed that the title of the feature appropriately doesn't include those words. But when trying to add or find titles that I am not aware of, searching for the phrase "Archive Collection" gives me a very brief list of features that actually have those two words as a part of their actual titles.

For example, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the US Blu-Ray with the UPC ending in 799060, shows in DVDP as:

"Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: Archive Collection"

showing both the title and the edition. Criterion Collection titles would be similar.

My question: how can I search effectively by the edition phrase only? If I wanted to find all of the titles that have an "Archive Collection" or a "Criterion Collection" edition, how can I do that?

Thanks in advance!

ProfilerQuery will let you search for edition (and much, much more).

However, this is probably easier:

Still, ProfilerQuery gives you much more control of the search. Why not give that a spin as well. You might discover that it is a very useful tool. Do read the help file to get started, though.

Thanks for the quick response! But I meant to add new titles to my database, not finding titles in my existing database (which your right is easy, tons of search options).

The search feature for finding/adding new titles seems limited to either the UPC or title only, I cannot seem to find a way to browse by edition.

Oh, I see. No, I'm pretty sure you can't do that in DVD Profiler. You would have to go to an outside database. I don't know of any that specifically let's you search by edition, but you may find Oldies.com helpful. The have listings of all the major studio vaults:

You may be getting more than you bargain for, though. Warner Archive Collection, for example, yields 3,770 results. Searching for "Criterion Collection" yields 1,065 results.

They do list the UPC for each title, so if you find something that you want to add to your wishlist in DVD Profiler, that makes it easy. It's the finding that may take some work ...

Good hunting!

You can use the UPC to achieve your goal, at least the criterion collection. In the Add DVD dialog, filter for US+Blu-ray/4K only. Then sort by UPC. All Criterion releases will be listed in one block. You just need to know the common start of the UPC for them (just look at one known release to get it).

For the Warner Archive, this would only work if they used a different brand and thus different UPC for those compare to the normal Warner releases.
