Hi Invelos Team,

are you planing to add Streaming Platforms in the Desktop Software? On many of them, it is able to buy movies, who maybe will later or never released on a physical Disc.
So it would be nice, if this would be possible in a near future.

Buy adding a movie manually I noticed many actors / actresses / crew members who made movies in past are not in the database.
It is maybe a to far thought, but a Sync with IMBD.com would solve this problem. ;-)

Greetings, Giovanni

Dear Giovanni,

As you registered in 2007, you (probably) must have seen the many discussions, if not rants, about the inaccuracy of IMDb. Apart from that it secures a copyright over its data, requiring other platforms that would use it to acquire permission and --of course-- receive payment. This is not doable considering the low, one-time life license for DVD-profiler. In short, I don't think Invelos may ever do this.

As you found out, you can create manual ID's for movies you've seen on some streaming channel. You may even look up the title in the database and copy cast, crew etc. Just never submit it.

As for cast and crew: as films and series keep being made, new persons of course enter the realm of being credits-listed. So add them if you will. Except for extra's you'll find a lot of them are already in the database, but his/her name might be slightly spelled differently, a woman having then removing a spouse's surname (Robin Wright Penn a cause célèbre in our forums), names with/without accented vowels, different conventions for Japanese and Chinese names and so on. You'll find many discussions on the fora here about that, though most are from a an ever more distant past...

If it is important, say it. Otherwise, let silence speak.
