Tuesday ONTRAC delivered my copy of Law & Order: The Complete Series and I am duly impressed.
Each year has its own keep case and UPC that appears to be unique . THX, no paper insert for the DVDs. Included is nice little booklet containing an overview for each episode.

I spent the rest of the afternoon building the basic child profiles for each of these keep cases and it will probably take week or so to build profiles for each of 104 discs.

I watched the first three discs, ten episodes of year one and a feature on the creation of Law & Order, Creator Dick Wolf explaining how he came up the idea of a series that is divided into two parts, police who investigated crimes and the district attorneys who prosecuted the offenders. Shot as sort of a docudrama.

Law & Order: Season 1:1990-1991: Disc One

Prescription for Death
The chief resident of a hospital emergency room is brought to trial because his possible alcoholism may have led to the death of a patient.

Subterranean Homeboy Blues
An apparent subway self-defense shooting by a former dancer taxes Stone and Robinette.

Law & Order: Season 1:1990-1991: Disc Two

The Reafer's Helper
Stone and Robinette are reluctant to prosecute a gay man for "assisting" the suicides of AIDS sufferers.

Kiss the Girls and Make Them Die
The detectives are frustrated when it looks like a privileged preppie might ge away with killing his girlfriend.

Happily Ever After
Stone and Robinette suspect that someone else might be involved in tho shooting of a married man, and go back to his wife, who was also wounded, as they prepare their case.

Everybody's Favorite Bagman
(Original Series Pilot)
The mugging of a councilman leads the detectives to arrest a mobster, who in turn leads Stone and Robinette to corrupt city officials.

Law & Order: Season 1:1990-1991: Disc Three

By Hooker; By Crook
When Logan and Greevey investigate how a family man came to be found unconscious in Central Park, they uncover a very high-class call-girl operation run by a well-educated socialite.

Poison Ivy
The shooting of a black honors student stirs up racial tensions, especially after it becomes apparent that the cop responsible for the death may have plantec a gun on the body to excuse the shooting.

Indifference
Greevey and Logan investigate the death of a little girl in a respectable middle-class family and uncover an unexpected battered wife and evidence of longtime child abuse.

Prisioner of Love
An artist noted for his sadomasochistic themes is found dead under suspicious circumstances, and an arts commissioner and a socialite come under investigation.

A definite 5/5 rating as an addition to my over 300 series collection of US crime dramas.

Sony released the first season March 2006 and I thought I's never be able to complete the series but the Shout! Factory has picked it up.
