| Posted: | | | | Yes thank you detlefs, I took your suggestion and it's running great - much better than under Parallels. It crashed during a database backup but I'm trying that again now. |

| Posted: | | | | I'm curious: do DVDP plugins work in Wineskin? I guess it would depend on what the plugin is doing, but if anybody is sucessfully using any of my plugins, it would be interesting to know that. Thanks in advance. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting detlefs: Quote: After many month running DVDP on a separate Windows machine, I thought I give Wine another try and see if I can get DVDP to run on my Mac. I decided to try out Wineskin and to my surprise, I found it works nearly perfect.
Wineskin creates a standalone .app that can be started just like a native Mac application.
In Wineskin Winery, I simply downloaded the latest Wrapper version (Wineskin-2.5.3) and Engine (WS8Wine1.3.33), installed the necessary fonts via the included Winetricks (Gecko is installed automatically), installed DVDP and that was it.
So far, I didn't find any issues/bugs/errors. I'm trying this now and having a few issues. Can I ask what fonts you installed? And did the Gecko part install correctly for you? Mine keeps giving errors, so all the HTML based stuff, like update preview, don't work. Any help appreciated. |

| Posted: | | | | Having the same problems with update preview and add to collection preview, the wine program runs a little buggy but overall a great way to have dvdprofiler on mac without installing a windows os. Is there any resolve for these preview issues, also if I want to download a new layout where would the layout go? I cant find the file it should go in. Thanks, tom |

| Posted: | | | | At first running DVDProfiler in Wine worked worked with a few glitches (it froze sometimes). Then after I added a few movies it froze every time it opened.
Sometimes it freeze on the same thing, adding a specific movie, relocate from wishlist to owned.
I hate to have to buy a Windows license to run this one program in a VM.

| Posted: | | | | I can't even install 3.8 using wineskin. I don't know what i'm doing wrong. I updated wineskin to the newest version, completely deleted all dvd profiler data, created a new blank wrapper, installed gecko and tahoma font, chose setup.exe, it says "wineskin is busy" then i get an error saying "file not found" then a new message pops up "oops! no new executables found! Maybe the installer failed...?" Weird. Any help? |

| Posted: | | | | I found after creating the wrap I just drop the exe file into the wrap icon and starts the process, but don't bother at this point wine cant handle 3.8 yet keeps crashing or locking up |

| Posted: | | | | ok with the new DvdProfiler update 3.8.1 Wine is working fine actually very good, all I did was drop the new dvdprofiler exe file on the wine icon I had created for the 3.8 and it updated great. and cover images are now showing also. |

| Posted: | | | | Ok can you tell me which version of wine your using and which engine? I've tried and tried but always get the same error. I shouldn't have updated Wine, 3.7 still works fine. |

| Posted: | | | | Ok never mind. I've now tried something different and it worked. I've used a friends windows pc to install dvd profiler 3.8.1 to a usb drive, created an empty wrapper with wine on my mac, chose "copy folder inside" option and now dvd profiler 3.8.1 works fine without actually running the installer on my mac. Maybe others who might encounter similar problems when installing will find this helpful. |

| Posted: | | | | glad it worked for you too, use the lastest updated on wrapper and engine, also works on my Mountain Lion preview os, I do see that it crashes after I use dvdprofiler for a while on either os though. and get errors when I try to backup. |

| Posted: | | | | Hi! I just recently switched over to be a Mac-user when buying a Macbook Pro Retina. One of the reasons it was possible for me to make that switch, was that you people seemed to be able to run DVD Profiler on your Mac's with wine. But as I am very new to Mac I am having some trouble installing wine. I've checked out your wiki-page but under Install Wine (on Mac OS) the link To download the latest dmg leads me to a page that I can not se how can make me install wine on my Mac. I've also tried to install wine using this guide, but after completing the steps in the guide, I only got fail-messages when trying to run any .exe-file through Wine. So is there any tips on how I can be able to successfully use Wine on my Mac with OS 10.8? |
