| Posted: | | | | I wouldn't even pretend to try and replicate anything the mighty goodguy produced - what an amazing programmer - but maybe some kind of collaboration is in order. If somebody could describe exactly what functions are needed, perhaps we could wrestle the aligator together (DJ Doena, Muckl, Mithi, et al - is there anything we couldn't solve together? ) On the other hand, maybe GG will see this and come back ... Maybe something could be added to the existing Cast/Cew editors and DB Query that would cover what is needed? I would also be willing to add a bit to BulkEdit if I understand how to do it. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! | Posted: | | | | I for one would appreciate an attempt to create a cast/crew variant plugin. I love clicking on the actor or cast member to see what other dvds I have for that person. It's frustrating when they are entered two or three times and therefore this "variant" isn't linked to all their work. Sometimes it is as simple as one has a birthdate or a middle intial and the other doesn't.
I also would like a tool, similar to the images cleanup to clean up cast or crew that are not associated with any dvd. The cast editor has a count of the credits. I would like to be able to delete all the "0" credited cast and crew.
Thank you for all you do! |

I'll take a look at adding that feature. Perhapas somebody else will consider a tool to do some of the other things. But just for grins, can somebody explain what is the method of linking variants? Entries in Notes?, Tags?, dummy Cast/Crew entries, separate database? I could enision a tool that would assist in managing coded entries in some DVDP field (Users, Cast/Crew or somewhere else). Once the linkages are in the database, anybody can write goodies encoded as HTML sections, XLST, plugins or whatever. Am I making any sense? Another thought: is there any way to use a translation file format as a way to encode linkages / aliases? | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Awesome! It didn't seem to work at first, but then, I unchecked the box to preserve cast with images (who cares). Now they are gone. Perfect!
Thank you DJ! |
