| Posted: | | | | That is all I been doing at this point... I mean you can always vidcap your movie with powerdvd or something... but I am too lazy for that! Plus I personally like more then just vidcaps.... I also like poster images and promo pics and such... pretty much depending on what I can find. I did however find a really good source for movie posters... as I said in another post... but worth repeating... check out http://www.impawards.com/... they have loads of movie posters there! | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks, I thought there might be something automated. I think Mith's skin had that option. | | | |

| Posted: | | | | personally I use Mithirandir's skin for 2.5 to automatically download sets of pictures for movies. It's a bit complicated to install, but Ya-Shin's got great instructions on how to make it all work. Once you're all set, you select a movie in 2.5, click the Download Current button. It then connects to a website (don't know which) and downloads some pictures. Most of the times there are screen grabs, there are sometimes the poster and sometimes production stills. Saves some work. You do have to copy then to your gallery folder afterward and rename the folder to the correct UPC (it uses the 10-digit 2.5 UPC as folder name, you have to rename it to the 12-digit 3.0 UPC to make it work). Oh and rename the pictures 00.jpg, 01.jpg, etc. as we have to do now anyway. As a side note, I use Bulk Rename Utility to rename the files. Then I have to do some tweaking to order the files correctly though (I like the poster to be picture 00.jpg for example). Oh yeah, I also modified my version of the script to start looking from picture 01.jpg, instead of 00.jpg. That way, I only have to rename the first 9 files from Mithi's skin, the others are fine, and that preserves the original ordering of the files. | | | Last edited: by RossRoy |

Saves some work. Most of the screen caps, as well as the headshots, came from TWSNBN. Not sure if the posters were also from there or from somewhere else. IIRC the download stuff was originally from roolku and several sites he had used years ago (when roolku's skin even downloaded trailers) were no longer active; his original poster site as well. | Posted: | | | | Okay, I go on holiday to Turkye for 1 week and you guys come with this :bigfatapplaus: Great stuff mates. Isn't this forum the best? Will start testing this on my system. Seems that I also will have to get Mithi's skin back to full operation again also Thanks again guys. Edit: one question upfront. The var gsl: isn't it possible to use a builtin var with the dvdprofiler location. Is use DVDP on 2 pc's on different drive letters but same folderstructure. I synchronize the folders to keep them the same but now I will have to maintain 2 different layouts for the same script. | | | Greetz, Marc Castermans

| Posted: | | | | Thx, everything in working order.
App. the location addition in the name of the folder got lost underway so foldername is pure UPC. Works like a charm. | | | Greetz, Marc Castermans

| Posted: | | | | Been testing this for a day or two and all is fine but question.
In the roolku and mithi skins we already used galleries and part of our structure was poster.jog for the posters and title.jpg or title.gif for the title pic.
What are your thoughts on keeping this structure? And who can get the code adjusted to do so? | | | Greetz, Marc Castermans

| Posted: | | | | Some much more knowledgeable people might help you more with that, but since this script only uses Javascript (mithi's and roolku's used Java, well Mithi's I'm sure, roolku's I don't know), Javascript cannot check for the existance or not of a file. So you'd either have to specify with tags or in the notes if the title.jpg and poster.jpg files are present or not, or keep the 00.jpg, 01.jpg, 02.jpg etc. and take the habit of using 00.jpg for the poster and 01.jpg for the title.
That's what I understand. It may or may not be right, I'm sure Xyrano will jump in shortly to explain it.
By the way, Xyrano, any news on my clipping/cropping request? Is it possible? |

Yes, this is correct. By the way, Roolku's skin behaves similar by using the java class to find out if a file exists or not. | | | Best regards,

I got clipping working, well, sort of... unconditional clipping really... showing 2/3:rd of the thumbnail width. Looks weird on some images. I got these in the next update; - start image name 00.jpg or 01.jpg - thumbnail width other than 100px I want to add option for clip thumb (4 those that don't want it), so holding on to code just a little longer |
