I don't think that there is any difference between the two versions (the 'build' being the same means that they are from the same compliation (as in compiled code) - i.e. same program).

Weio, are you sure it wasn't wine-gecko-installation? If it was, then this isn't a change to this Wine version - you're just experiencing something that you may not have before. Gecko starts to install part way through DVDP starting for the first time, and the splash screen hides the pop-up. In KDE (I've no experience of Gnome) I can choose to move the Gecko pop-up by right clicking on it's entry in the taskbar, or you can add the 'nosplash' switch to the command that starts the program.

Once Gecko's installed, DVDP will finish loading as normal and should be 'fully' functional (or as fully as it gets under Linux).

You are right. It was wine-gecko-installtion and i was able to download and install gecko after moving the window. But the main problem isn't gone. The HTML View is disabled and i don't know where to switch it on.

I just downloaded VMFusion and have it running on my Mac and DVD Profile of course works great since it is loaded on a XP type install. The only downside is 80 bucks for the program.

I'm having problems resizing windows in DVD Profiler.  I'm running Mepis, a Linux OS, on an Acer Aspire One netbook.  Originally, the problem was that some of the "secondary windows" (like view history, watched by, etc.)  were too big for the small Acer screen.  For example, in the watched by window I could choose the watcher but the "OK" button wasn't visible at the bottom of the screen so I couldn't actually add the event.  Somewhere I found an option to resize the window (forced resize).  What I didn't know what that it would resize future windows!  Now my secondary windows are not displaying all of the information/fields either vertically or horizontally.  I haven't been able to refind the forced resizing option again.  This by the way is only a problem on my Acer...because of the small screen size (8.9" widescreen.)
Edit:  I found (I think!) what I was looking for (Control Center, windows specific settings) but am not sure what to do to get the desired result.  Part of the problem involves the bottom toolbar (kicker) as the open window is underneath the toolbar.  Is there a way to make the kicker bar disappear, like what you can do in Windows by having it disappear & then reappear when you move the cursor over that area?
Edit:  I got it.  I was looking for "kicker" or "toolbar" to try to enable hiding it but KDE refers to it as a "panel".  Was able to hide the kicker panel & can now see what I need to see in the secondary windows.

I'm using Wine 1.1.6-1.1 on OpenSUSE 11.
I installed IE6 using winetricks and got rid of the invalid fp error.

I'm having two minor problems (had those also before using IE6):

1. If I enter anything into "Overview" it's not kept. Anything I enter into "Notes" or "Easter Eggs" is kept though?

2. If I, in the menu, chooses "Online | Othe Websites | IMDB Search for This Title", nothing happens. I'm using Firefox btw.

Any suggestions?

1. Upgraded to 1.1.14 and I can now type in Overview and get it to stay there.
I had locked Wine to 1.1.6 because 1.1.7 caused another program to stop working.
All my Wine progs (4) seems to work with 1.1.14.

2. I tried the fix (%1) and it works. I now can get IMDB by clicking on it.

Not being a MAC user, I can't speak with much authority. However, I would use Darwine rather than wine (if you have not already). Take a look at the Wiki/knowledgebase refferenced in the first thread and again in my sig.

The program will install to an appropriate location, and the user/psudo-computer specific information will be stored in USERS/Ray/.wine (things such as registry files, Windows program installations, etc.).

I'm not sure why it can't find wine, but this may be an issue solved by using Darwine... or not.

It's been a long time since I did that (I am now using VMWare Fusion) but I think to remember that indeed something needed to be done with winetricks. You either had to make it executable (sh) or make sure to copy it into the same folder as wine.
