| Posted: | | | | Quoting NewEnglander: Quote: To get the 3x boost trophy, use a new save file. Be sure to backup your other one first though. Yep, that did the trick. Took me just about 5 minutes too, so don't worry Mark... Yesterday I decided to continue with those challenges. Wow, those can be hard. But not because of the challenge, but because of all the idiots having one with disturbing the game. Took me something like 6 hours for 35 challenges When I stopped I had waited three times for 10 minutes for the group to simply meet somewhere, mind you, they were all nearby, yet preoccupied with crashing each other I have a hunch getting the last 85 challenges will be a real pain. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. | Posted: | | | | My wife was gone Friday night and I was stuck home with the boys. So on a whim, I picked up the Party Pack. We had fun, but the older boy only wanted to play one round. Still, me and the 6 year old had a blast. I don't know how much use I'll get out of it, but we just got our tax returns back so it seemed like a good time for a frivolous purchase. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. | Posted: | | | | Since it's not been mentioned yet, the Toy Cars were released today. They're $5.99 per pack (each pack has 4 cars) or $12.99 for both packs plus the motorcycle (only available in the big pack). Not sure if I'll get them or not. But that's what I've said for every pack so far. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | They were released in the Asian last night as well but didn't appear in the Playstation Store until my bedtime (so I couldn't buy yet); hope they are available tonight. I think $12.99 is a bit expensive for me. Given that I mainly stick to the same car anyway I'll probably just get my favorite, the Carson GT and skip on the others. Then I'll still have the trouble to choose between three in the future, the Carson GT, the Carson GT and the 88 Special... | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. | Posted: | | | | The toy cars are awesome. I had so much fun driveing round with a friend using them. Also, if you like trophies, the best deal is the $12.99 pack as the Bike is like $2.50. When I saw that each car was $1.99 x8 and the bike was as I said, about $2.50... The mega pack looks like a bargain!
Plus, after all the free stuff they gave us, they can have a few dollars from me, thanks Criterion!
BTW, the bike is awesome too. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

| Posted: | | | | O.k. I gave in. Once I saw the price in local currency all my concerns were washed away and I just clicked "Buy". And I am glad I did. These cars are very cute (park next to a regular sized one in Freeburn and look at their size!) sound really funny and even have a horn. I really hope I can pass on those Boost Specials. WILL buy the Island and look forward to learn more about the Cops mode. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |

| Posted: | | | | Hmm... I was going to pass, but with two good reviews here and other good reviews I've read elsewhere, I might just have to go for it. Plus my youngest son would love them. Especially since I've heard they're much harder to crash. That would be perfect for him. Still looking forward to the Island. But the party pack was about double about what I thought it would cost. The Legendary Cars were more than I expected. These are more than I expected. So I'm starting to wonder if the Island won't be a lot more than we're guessing. As for the boost specials, here's a preview of them. They're not really grabbing my attention yet. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. I would not have said that by myself, but now that you mention it, it might indeed be that they are a little harder to crash. Not by all that much though; you can use them online, probably in races and all, so they must handle adequately I guess. They are cute though too and lots of fun for your kid, I am sure Quoting NewEnglander: Quote: I just heard that the Boost Specials will be coming this Thursday at a price of $3 each, or both for $5. Seeing that I do not use boost cars myself all that much (I like Stunt cars the best as their boost is easiest to replenish) I will give the boost cars a pass and save up for the island. Problem being, it will be very hard for me to pass on island... (Hmmm, I wonder how it will be handled online, for people without the island playing with people who have the island...) | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. My guess is that you'll race with them normally, but if they drive over to the island, you won't be able to follow. Or join in challenges that take place there. That's just a guess. I just hope it isn't handled like the motorcycles where you play on the island or you play in the rest of the city. If it's not a seamless experience, that will suck. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | My guess is that those that dont have the island won't see the bridge, and therefore would not be able to follow anyone if they tried. | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

| Posted: | | | | Yeah, they'll probably still see the construction site we all see right now...
Maybe it'll be similar to what happened with the legendarys and toys? There was a short period when I had the update (Asia) but it wasn't available in other regions that. During that period the online rooms were seperated into rooms for people with and other for those without the 1.5 patch... | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. | Posted: | | | | Personally, I'm very happy with the DLC Criterion has provided so far and don't mind to pay for some of it. They are probably the single best game company on PS3 when it comes to supporting your production with continued updates. We've already received a lot of them for free, so I don't mind to also pay for some of the updates. I like the toy cars but love the Legendary cars add-on. It's just a hoot to be able to drive these classic cars and it really brought me back to the game, as I had put it down for a while (to play other games) Definitely looking forward to the island addition and I'll buy the boost cars the day they come out | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

Assuming there are new challenges (which may or may not be true), that seems like a good way to handle the problem. Just like they don't let people with cars race against those on motorcycles, they might separate those with the island from those who don't have it. Otherwise you could start a challenge that not everyone could complete. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |
