Steve It will indeed, because Sony will include the free discs as units sold (for $0). In fact Sony sales figures are usually units shipped and not actually sold. Much like every unsold PS3 and every copy of Ricky Bobby piled up on shelves in shops across America last Christmas were included in last years sales figures. |

Much like every unsold PS3 and every copy of Ricky Bobby piled up on shelves in shops across America last Christmas were included in last years sales figures. Seen that done before...the Football team (soccor to you Yanks) I support had a situation a couple of seasons ago whereby the boardroom done some unpleasant things as far as the supporters where concerned. As we where displeased with it, to show our displeasure all the season ticket holders boycotted one home game, according to the local press report after that game the Official attendance figures released by the club said 24,000 fans attended the game at the weekend. The local press reporter said it was more like 2,000. Upshot when ask at a board meeting by the same reporter why the different figures, the answer he got was "We have already sold the season tickets so if they were empty that the fans fault". Funny how the board changed within two years though. Steve |

They applied to the RIAA for multiple platinum status on the quantity of shipped copies. RIAA awarded the appropriate certification. Unfortunately, the record barely sold gold album status, and between the unsold copies shipped back to the distributors and the eventual returns on the unliked album, they lost their multi-platinum status.
I guess no one wanted to savor the BeeGees & Peter Frampton (not to mention George Burns, Steve Martin, & Donald Pleasance) covers of Beatles' songs. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

| Posted: | | | | I have an original copy as well. First album I ever bought in the 60's as a kid. I remember playing this record non stop to the brink of my Mom yelling to turn it off. . To this day I can remember word for word all the lyrics to the songs.
And for vinyl. I have a collection of over 10000 45's to feed my AMI Jukebox, over 500 78's from the big band era, and thousands of record albums. My main turntable is a 1964 Dual 1009F turntable built in Germany, the 45's get played on a 1957 Webcor Prelude consolette, or my 1949 RCA 45 record changer that is plugged into the matching AM radio, both made out of bakelite. | | | Last edited: by Bill MacNeill |

I'm referring to the horrendous movie soundtrack album by the BeeGees, Peter Frampton, Earth Wind & Fire, Aerosmith, George Burns, Steve Martin & others released in 1978. That's the one I cannot imagine listening to a second time (with the exception of EW&F's "Got to Get You Into My Life"). | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Steve LMAO! I guess that made you feel better about the HD DVD situation. If Sony Pictures can't sell discs, then what would be the word(s) to describe HD DVD disc sales? Almost non-existent this year? Plus, free is just what gets people's attention. In reality, they're really buying 3 new release discs for $17.99 a piece and 3 older catalog titles for $13.33 a piece. That's hardly giving them away. I thought that was common knowledge. I thought you liked the value that HD DVD was giving you all. The HD DVD price advantage is completely taken away for those that buy a god deal of titles. Plus the $499 Sony BD player that is basically on par with the HD-XA2 ($799). Sony is giving sales to Blu-ray owners. In the end, you just wish you had that sale on the HD DVD side. Universal is not about to give the HD DVD side a sale like that. They are only 11% of the HD market because of their HD DVD only support. MS is likely covering them on the back end, but probably not enough to give a sale on movies. They might need to get more funding from MS before bring that to you guys. | | | To err is human... ----------- 473 Blu-ray Titles |
