It is fed from the AV receiver, cable for analogue channels, and from the Oppo for 3D BluRay. All playback equipment is connected to my AV reciver, a Denon AVR 3808. It has a 5.1 speaker set up connected to it. Playback equipment is: LG Video disk recorder (hardly ever used...) Cable Decoder for the digital channels, including some HD channels Pioneer region free DVD player PS3 for games, BluRay and DVD Oppo region free BluRay player Toshiba HD DVD player CD player Granted there is some duplication in CD/DVD/BluRay playback devices, but with thousands of video disks, hundreds of classical music CD's and hundreds of modern music CD's (rock, pop) I try to divide the burden of wear. After all, playback devices are machines with moving parts and for all there will be the inevitable moment in time they're worn out. Then again, it looks impressive too  The TV, receiver and the BluRay devices are connected to my internet modem and so, by consequence, to the Internet and my PC. The PC runs Serviio so I can watch downloaded trailers from my PC on the telly as well as other stuff, like photos etc. Allows also audio playback of the mp3 files... I put the pick up for my LP's in the storage room as I ripped them almost all to CD and to mp3. Main reason though was that there was no space left near the receiver  My older 42" Sharp flatscreen is in the master bedroom with an older regio free DVD player attached. Just back up really, I always fall asleep there  I also do have a laptop which I use on holiday travel to connect to the Internet and view disks. I do NOT have a tablet | | | Eric

Kewl.. actually doing the same thing here on exactly the same model (same model names here). Here in Oz they charge double the price you pay in the US etc for these things, but been watching the price drop on the EH-TW8100. It's down to $2890 (normal price is $3600 odd here). originally I thought I'd get this after christmas as the prices often drop then. But I'm not so sure now. if the price does drop again this week, I won't be waiting any longer to buy it. So give us a little review of what you think of the EH-TW8100 |

I'm not sure I follow your question. To keep track of my collection. It was the way it was worded. Reading it one way made it seem as though you were using MediaFire with IMDB data. But I think what you were really saying was that you wrote a script to populate MediaFire with DVD Profiler data in lieu of IMDB, because DVDP data is more accurate. | | | Thanks for your support.

In Europe prices in euro are often equated to prices in US dollars even though 1 € ~= $1.3, like an item costs 1000 US$ in the USA and 1000 € in the old world. However, here advertised prices for consumers must be inclusive of all taxes (especially VAT which hovers in most counties around 20%, but also import duties) and then there might be different transport costs. AFAIK USA advertised prices are always excluding sales tax and prices in US retail shops are usually not as low as found on the net. | | | Eric

| | Posted: | | | | My prices were $AUS - which include all taxes. Prices are from Australian "retailers". The aussie dollar is pretty similar to the US dollar at the moment (exchange rate wise).
Having a quick look it appears this projector is around $US2600 in the USA? Ok so it's not double.. but a lot more to buy it here. My Denon AVR-3313 was the same, around $1100 in the US and around $1800-1900 here. | | | | Last edited: by Parsec |

On normal lamp mode projector is quite loud, but it doesn't bother me since I'll only use it on eco mode and that's quite silent. I've only had it for two days, but can't find anything to complain about. Maybe switch from one picture source to another or from one aspect ratio to another could be a bit faster, but I can live with it. I can't say anything about 3D features since I have no plans to use them. I paid 2200EUR for it including taxes and delivery. Overall, I'm VERY happy with it. |

| | Posted: | | | | Ok well the Epson EH-TW8100 is a no go.. 2890 best price.. but it has been given a miss..... So, now is ordered a Epson EH-TW9100 !!! Got it direct from Epson as a "factory second" (still has warranty) for $2361 These things retail here for about $3899 and I think it's called the 6020u (?) in the USA. Should arrive this week Now I'll just watch mediadogg go fluorescent green with envy  |
