The labels got almost nothing from the streaming as it was the case when Netflix was renting physical DVD by mail. The only time they will see an honest ammount is when the contract is with an honest company (sadly very few are...).

Also it's important to know that I talk about small indy labels. I know no one at Hollywood

Supporting the labels is more important for me than saving a couple of bucks, anyway I'm friend with many label owners and I'm always there to help a friend when he need me.

Not me I always download the digital copy if it is included, we use Media Center with the Xbox 360's in the house so any TV can playback the digital copy.  Plus we started renting a lot of digital copies from Amazon, with some of their specials for 99cents for 24 hour rental gives me a chance to view the movie before I decide if I really want to buy it.  We also, do a lot of streaming of Movies and TV from Netflix on the TV.  The only digital copies I don’t use right now are UltraViolet the quality is bad and isn’t widely supported by a number of digital devices.

Purchasing movies has cut down some as there have been a lot of movies I wouldn’t say they were stinkers but, the replay appeal just doesn’t seem to be what it used to be.  Most of my purchases have been classics it seems lately.

Did a cable on-demand movie for my son once when he was sick, and streamed 1 free show from Amazon for myself, but have $7 or so credit there for over a year and no plans to use it.

I don't think a $7.00 credit will still be there a year later.. there are time limits ...

While the number of logged in users in the picture only refers to the Gerneral Discussion sub-forum, traffic seems to have slowed down here quite a bit.

On topic, I agree with Kathy and Kulju.

I've had my fair share of horrible run-ins with Skip. But, also more than enough very pleasant encounters too.
I don't miss his presence in this forum, but I sincerely hope he is doing great in his private life...after all, it's our private lives that are important - not this forum.

A) Skip has left the building
B) People has learned that Invelos partisipation at forums is non existing. They have learned that their questions get no response from invelos. No comments for rules questions, feature requestions, program developement state, no presence at rules commitee etc. Rules wont get updated, program developement is really slow, website developement non existing etc. etc.

So why hang out here?

This is after all a forum about DVDP, though there are general side forums too, but if one is interested about movies and DVDs/Blu-Rays in general there are much better forums for that. 

I don't miss Skip in the least and I like coming to the forums and reading threads more since he's been gone.
