| Posted: | | | | Was it really that bad? I've only started posting this year, so I don't have comparison here.
On the other hand, I've certainly seen similar troubles in just about every forum I've ever visited. Some people just live to be a pain in the arse. |

| Posted: | | | | I thought that I would provide some feedback on the Feedback System: Firstly, I think that it has had a positive effect on the tone of the forums. I am aware that the system is new and being tuned but I think that the rating system is too heavily weighted in favour of heavy posters and maybe US profile contributors. I don't know how many users obtain positive reputation feedback for profile contributions but I'm lucky to get a vote in Region 4 land on any contribution. 22 approved contributions in the last month (4 new ones), 5 didn't get a vote at all and nothing received more than 3 votes. I am not a prolific poster on the forums but I try to be helpful and occassionally funny (views will differ as to whether or not I actually succeed there). Nevertheless, I have managed to accumulate 12 posts with positive feedback for a total of 21 postive votes and no negatives. In spite of this I am still stuck on a Normal Rating defined as "All ratings start here. Make helpful posts to improve your rating." The next rating up is Good Rating defined as "Posts rated positive." What I'd like to know is how many posts you have to have to reach this threshold? I really don't care about my own rating but see the current situation as no incentive to anyone but prolific posters and US profile contributors. | | | Last edited: by Telecine |

I understand that Ken won't tell us the exact thresholds (and that the thresholds may vary if the system needs fine tuning), but I guess you are pretty near to getting a yellow star. | | | -- Enry |

If my understanding (of the system, and what you are saying) is correct. You don't get any 'positive points' if somone votes 'Yes' (and conversly no 'negative points' if someone votes 'No') to you're contribution. The positive and negative points only come from the green and red arrows. The only part of contributions that can get green or red arrows is comments left by voters (either for yes or no votes) and then only the contributor can vote on these, if I'm not mistaken -Agrare |

| Posted: | | | | Actually you can get positive votes for a contribution but the person who wants to give you the vote has to go to the "contribution notes" page From the evaluation page click on the icon (just below the button.) Once there you can rate the contribution notes positive or negative |

-Agrare Actually you can leave" Red or Green Arrow" reputation votes for contributions but it is a convoluted process to do so. Go to Database > Select a Contribution > Evaluate Contribution > Contribution Notes Forum (the lttle text icon on the right-hand side at the same level as the words Contribution Notes that are on the left-hand side) and leave a positive or negative reputation vote. I've left them myself (positive of course). | | | Last edited: by Telecine |

| Posted: | | | | I would personally like to leave positive notes for 'exceptional' contributions, ie someone who has taken the time to fill a full cast and crew from a television series for example. But the current process makes it too difficult | | | |
