| Posted: | | | | By the way, if you decide to go with the XML import, I suggest starting with a new clean database. After a successful load, backup the database, and for good measure do a database repair - make sure the loaded profiles are "Invelos scrubbed". Then just merge the new database into whatever other database you want. Of course, you need cover art, etc. moved into the appropriate folders, but you knew that ... | | | Thanks for your support. Also, if you have the episodes assigned to a profile, the episode data will be included on profile basis in my Viewer Collection File export. If you need a way to get the cast and crew data first into episode basis from a Profiler season set profile into CCViewer, you can try my script which is available in CCViewer via File->Update->Other data... Megacool. And if you don't want to write an actual plugin, you could convert Tom's output to a collection.XML and import with Bulkedit. Now that would be something ... if this is still pending a few months from now, I'll try it but I think DJ or Mithi could do it better. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Let me count the ways: (there are 4 - wait for them all, as I will incrementally update this post to try and avoid the Invelos edit error)
(1) Flag one or more profiles, then use Collection\Flagged\Clone To Manual I only tried flagging one profile and so only got one manual, it never occured to me to try flagging several - yep, it works! Quote: (2) Flag one or more profiles with lots of discs, then use Collection\Flagged\Clone Children from DiscIDs OK, don't have that many profile with many discs, but good to know there is an alternative. Quote: (3) Create one or more manual profiles, flag them, then Collection\Flagged\Clone to manual. Do it again and get 2x, again = 4X, etc. You will large numbers of profiles fast. I'm sure it works, but I think it will be easier to do it the oldfashioned way by using "Add Profile" and "Don't download from Invelos". Quote: (4) Use BulkEdit Load XML and Validate. It will load just about all of an official DVD Profiler exported XML Collection. But it will also load a minimal version, where you can either specify Manual IDs, or BulkEdit will create them for you.
Here is a minimal 1-DVD, 1-disc collection:
If you don't know how already, Mithi can show you how to create this XML from anything, such as a CSV file, using XSLT. Sorry, but this sounds very complicated, not sure I know what you mean. Quote: (5) I lied. Ther is another way in the works. BulkEdit CSV import has been nearly re-written and is sitting on the shelf for completion and testing. Maybe you shouldn't wait for it though ...
I'm not so naive as to think these are the only ways - just the ones that come to mind using BulkEdit. DVD Profiler has so many features, we might be overlooking sometthing else that is in the product. If so, somebody will tell us soon. Many thanks for your help, I think I will use your first suggestion in the future - although I am sure the last one is the most elegant solution - for a programmer

I'm afraid I don't get the script to work, it always gives me "Active X Component can't create object" error even after successfully registering AutoItX3.dll. But no problem, I created the manual profiles using mediadogg's first tip (Thanks again!), will multi-copy most information from season profile, copy cast/crew to textfiles and from there back again to each episode. Many thanks for all your help, much appreciated!

This script doesn't use AutoItX3. It uses the Automation DLL for Viewer database. This DLL should already be installed if you have my Awards plugin installed. Otherwise it is also available via File->Update->Other data... Please also read the instruction inside the script (open it in a text editor).

If it's not because of the missing CCVControl.dll, it could be because of a missing MSXML3.dll in windows\system32. Does it mention the line of the script where it fails?

I think BE does some work at certain events such as DVD select. I will review that code. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here.
