I would really like to try the app but I'm unable to install it. Everytime I try to install I get a message "unable to parse package" (or something like that, the message is in german).
I downloaded the app already many times, always  the same.
My device is an Archos A101I, Android 2.2.

Any ideas how I can install it?

Thanks & ciao,
Alfred

Hi!
How are you trying to install?  From an SD card and a file explorer, or some other way?

I tried from external USB Stick (download on PC) and internal SD (download on tablet).
For opening I used the Archos file explorer and build in package installer but also with file explorer from Android Assistant.
Always the same.
Device is not rooted, I never had such a problem with other apk files or installations from Play Store.

I also tried unzipping and rezipping the apk (as it is more or less only a renamed zip file), that gave the same result.

Any ideas?

Thanks & Ciao,
Alfred

OK.  1) I'm not that familiar with tablets. 2) See #1
That being said: Can you 'drop' the *.apk an empty folder and install from there (not from the SD or UDB drive)?  And do you need administrator rights to install on the machine?  It might not hurt to right click and do "Install As Administrator" (if it can be done).
For my phone I also have desktop management software. One of the options is "Install programs"
*IF* you have something like this it might be worth trying from the desktop.  Can't hurt

Someone with tablet experience is going to have to take over from here.
Best for luck!

hi,
i want to thank you for this nice little piece of software.
great work for a beta.
And i want to suggest a feature for the next version, if possible.
i'm using custom collections and would be excited if you can implement a view like it is in DVDprofiler (all/cust1/cust2/buyed ...).

Hi,
This is a nice app, really convenient for the "couch computer".
For some reason the app won't recognize 4 of my movies. The cover photos and thumbnails are where they're supposed to be and that's about all I know how to check. It's no big deal but any suggestions as to what I might try to get it to recognize these movies?
BTW, I've uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times and it's always the same 4 movies that don't show up in the list.
Thanks

Well I would look at how they are in your DVDP, by disc ID or by UPC, and check that the files are on the device.

If they are then there is a reason they are not being exported.

Take a screen grab of your plug-in set up where you make the choices

Postthat up here so we can see what your settings

RobAGD,
Thanks.
The images are in the droid app and seemed to be numbered correctly so I don't get it.
It's not a big deal, just strange. I guess the app just doesn't like these 3 (one of the 4 movies was a promotional copy and I was able to fix that one) particular movies.

Hello all,

The alpha test is done, and I'm launching the application in public beta now. I call it still beta, because there may be problems with the plugin install and incompatibilites on the android devices.

Please note that I'm doing this in my free time, so I'll react as soon as I can.

Also, please don't use cracked version of Invelos' DVD Profiler. Buy it and register it. We all need Invelos to stay alive and running the database.

Instructions :
  • For the first use, install android application on your device and run it once. It will create directories that the plugin will try to locate to know where to copy files. It should show you an empty collection.

  • Install the export plugin on the PC, and run it.

  • Some android devices do not allow you to connect it via active sync nor USB storage. In this case, you'll have to manually copy files from PC to device (don't buy devices using poprietary connections )

  • Always use the last plugin with the last android application, and export your collection after having both installed : the application may need the new database structure generated by the last export plugin version

  • Dowload : (sorry, no more version in file names to make update easyer)
    Export Plugin :
    File Factory
    DropBox
    Adroid Application :
    FileFactory
    DropBox

    Change Log :
  • Beta 0.7  may 30th 2012

  • 1.Fixed : layout size in landscape (on some devices)
2.Filter on genres. Should work as in the PC version.

  • Older version ....

I am getting a bad "APK" message when trying to install from the SD_CARD with both versions (0.4 & 0.2) when trying to install on my PD_Novel running Android 2.0.1.
I am able to install other "APK"s with out trouble from the SD_CARD?

I am going to try my Dell_Strek W/Android 3.1.X next.. Installed from SD_CARD, but no graphics when .DB is manually moved to SD_CARD??

I am using EXPORT 0.7 Plug-In, the areas for the export/sync cover images is grayed out and I seem to be missing how to move these manually

    Update:
    (1) I think I need an older version of ABD.EXE as part of the APK package??
    (2) Ok for images I need to copy my image directories over also.. I thought that it was all done by the software...

David, it has the ability to copy images over.

I use ES or Astro for file manager, Get the APK to your phone and it should install without issue unless something broke with an older version of Android. You need to run the APK once to build the directory structure and drop the Droid_dvdp_is_Here file.

You do need to have the Android SDK installed to have the ADB tools ( while I believe the install package has these it can't hurt )

Now when you connect via usb you need to set the phone to removable storage, set the correct directory in the plug in and it should just go if you have it set up right.

    Robert:
I can manually copy the images, but they are not part of the manual copy option on my set up as these options to copy the images is greyed out.

I am being told by another "DROID HEAD" that the *.APK when it is being compiled, is not being compiled for the older version comparability...??

You can pick up a used early 1.x -> 2.1 tablets for about the same cost of two reams of high grade ink jet paper... due to the size of my collection I am really hoping to use my older 2.0.1 device as a replacement for my table top notebook.

Hey... I am just an end user and I would be one of the first ones "derezzed" if I lived in the TRON GRID!!

    Topic: Image Size?  {Maybe this topic has been 'covered' but could not find it in this thread.}

I have used a mass conversion program to compress my image collection and copied it over to my "DELL STREAK-7 {WiFi only}" (Androiid 3.2 Honeycomb)

But the images, while in image view mode, is only displaying about 1/4th of the left side of the cover image, not the full image??

The list mode shows the full thumbnail.

Is there anyway to adjust the amount of the image being shown in the image mode?

    {If I use the installed image viewer the full image is displayed.}

This might be also the problem on my tablet, it's Android 2.2 "only"

    @kitarolivier
Could it be the package is for Android 2.3+ only? And if yes, is there really any need for that version?
Or might it be able to compile a version for older devices?

    @all
Is anyone here using the (latest) app on anything below 2.3?

    Ciao, Alfred
