Should this really be the only thread in the announcements forum which is not locked?

Just my opinion but I don't think there should be any threads in this forum that users can post in.  I hate it when I see the new post icon lit up only to find it's not an announcement about the iPhone version...it's a rollercoaster of emotions

One has to wonder what in the world they missed.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Note: As it may not be clear after the fact, the above posts were moderated since they called for action against a specific user.  The moderator comment explains that the additional action they were requesting is not as immediate as post editing as it requires the approval of a second moderator.

Could this thread please be locked so users cannot post in it? All other threads in this sub-forum are locked, so whenever I see the "Announcement" forum lit up I get excited for new program and/or feature announcements. Only to time and again be disappointed because a non-admin posted here.

I realize the irony of me probably having been cause for some other user having that reaction, but figured this was the best way to make the request.

My post brought no one out by name, was not attacking in any way (IMO) and was 100% in agreement with what Kathy said. There was a bit of sarcasm in it, though, I'll admit to that.  . However, deleting it has such will no doubt lead to assumptions since no one can see the original post. That's not to say I don't understand why it was deleted, but your reply is a good example on why passive aggressive moderating doesn't really do anything in helping forum members know what is okay and what is not.

So would it be possible that a forum moderator violates the forum rules?

I mean if its "legal" according to the forum rules to delete posts which do NOT violate the forum rules!
I hope you understand - otherwise I'm lost in translation...

It made sense to me

Unfortunately, like most forums, the rules give them the ability to moderate each and every post if they wanted to -

Quote:
Post Editing and Moderation is at the sole discretion of Invelos Software, Inc. and designated forum moderators.

Even if there's nothing wrong with a post, they're allowed to remove it.
